Marvel's Ironheart, a story following Riri Williams as she pits technology against magic after getting wrapped up with a charming Parker Robbins, is all set to premiere with its six-episode event on June 24.

However, the minimal marketing that Marvel's Ironheart seemed to receive and its promotion as a six-episode event are painting a picture that might mean that there is a chance that a second season might not be in the cards for Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams. Here's everything we know.

There is a chance there won't be an Ironheart Season 2 in the MCU future

Created by the Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler, Ironheart is described as a showdown between technology and magic.

Set after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Marvel Television’s “Ironheart” pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)—a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos).

The future cannot be predicted until Season 1 premieres and critical and viewer feedback can be observed; however, Dominique Thorne offered some insight on her hopes for her character in the show in her conversation with The Direct, which would help set up whatever happens in the future:

"I think this time around, once again, her mind is opened about what actually exists in the world, realizing that it's so much bigger than what she thought even in her hometown, that things are so much bigger and there's a lot more going on than she ever cared to know or to understand."

When asked point-blank if there was any official talk for a second season, Thorne replied:

"No, no. Not yet"

So, there's no official news regarding a second season, which is not unusual considering Ironheart is yet to premiere. Thorne not being privy to such information also doesn't mean there aren't talks regarding it being discussed. However, Marvel has been more than just negligent in marketing for the upcoming series. Apart from a trailer that dropped on a random day some time before the release, there has been no push marketing-wise about the series or its release.

Additionally, the trailer is celebrating Ironheart as a six-episode event, which makes its return to our screens with a second season even more doubtful. However, despite no official confirmation, Thorne did express excitement for the possibilities that the future holds for her character after the premiere on June 24:

So now that she does know what's out there, what does she choose? And, when she makes a choice, we know that she'll commit. And so what does that, what does that look like for her to lean into the total left field option of what we would expect from her? I think that would be pretty cool.
