Finally, here is the good news for fans, as there's a new update about the show Among Us.
After it was announced in June 2023 that an adaptation of the game by the same name is in the works, fans have been waiting for an update. The series is being developed by CBS Studios, joining hands with Innersloth, the ones who created the original game.
Now, Innersloth has confirmed that the series is in the works. However, they didn't release any more information about the release date.

Is the Among Us show still in works?
Animated TV show, Among Us, is still in work, Innersloth has confirmed.
It was in June 2023, the series was officially announced, along with a trailer and Owen Dennis being revealed as the showrunner. In August 2024, the production of the show was completed. However, there was no update about the release until now. The show is still in development and is not being abandoned.
As per a report by The Direct, X account @TheCartoonBase posted that Innersloth has told them that Among Us is "still on' but the release is not going to happen any time soon.
The X post reads as follows:
"Innersloth tells Cartoon Base there won’t be any news on the ‘AMONG US’ animated series soon since they’re still working on it: 'TRUST we are still working on the show [...] all that to say no news is coming haha sorry cartoonbase admin i respect ur hustle tho'"
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the Among Us animated series after its trailer debuted at Summer Game Fest 2024. The show is filled with some great voices backing the characters, and this includes Elijah Wood, Ashley Johnson, and Randall Park.
According to an October 2024 Deadline report, Dennis mentioned that they were still looking for platforms and suitable streamers. There is some speculation that Paramount+ will be picking up the show while pairing it with other video game adaptations, like Sonic the Hedgehog.
What do we know about the plot of Among Us?
This animated series will mirror the premise of the original game it is based on. The show is set in a spaceship where the workers need to deal with a shape-shifting alien. It is difficult to identify the imposter among them. The show runner, while speaking with Deadline, described the tone of the show as "unsettling and tongue-in-cheek" at the same time, which draws inspiration from classic spaceship shows like Alien, Star Trek, and The Thing. He said:
"The game can be a little unsettling. You’re walking around what is mostly an empty spaceship with the knowledge that at least one person on the crew is an alien and wants to kill you. It’s creepy in the best way."
"At the same time, it’s funny and tongue-in-cheek, clearly echoing 'Alien,' 'Star Trek,' and 'The Thing.' Balancing that sort of humour with drama is something I love to do and is in a lot of my previous work, like 'Infinity Train' and 'Regular Show.'"
