Andor, the acclaimed Star Wars series, will be leaving Hulu on Thursday, July 3, 2025. This is confirmed by Hulu itself as the pages listing the series list July 3, 2025, as the last day when the beloved show will be available on the platform. However, that doesn't mean that the series will be completely inaccessible after leaving Hulu, as the two-season series will be available to stream on Disney's other streaming platform as well.

The acclaimed series premiered simultaneously on both Disney+ and Hulu in 2022. Since then, Andor is the only Star Wars project that suits a streaming platform like Hulu, which is known for its adult programming.

Why is Andor leaving Hulu?

Fans were under the impression that since Disney also owns Hulu, Andor would be available on the platform forever. However, it seems that might not be the case, as this week, fans across the US were shocked to learn that the acclaimed series will be leaving Hulu next Thursday. For now, we don't know why the show is leaving Hulu, but it will be available to stream in its entirety, i.e., all 24 episodes (12 in each season) on Disney+.

Furthermore, if you feel that Disney+ is the only way to watch this gorgeously shot second season, that's not the case. During the Star Wars Celebration event in Japan this April, Gilroy revealed to Collider that conversations of releasing season 2 on the big screen are being discussed as of now. The showrunner's exact words to Collider's Steve Weintraub were:

"It's been discussed. We've mixed [Episodes] 1, 2, and 3 to play theatrically. They do need a little bit of an extra mix. We mix differently for how we deliver normally, because people watch on their iPads, on their TVs — it’s 5.1 [aspect ratio]. If you’re mixing for theaters, it's not like a switch. It takes a couple hours or a day to do that. So we have [Episodes] 1, 2, and 3. If there was enough interest, I'm sure Disney would roadshow it at some point. Why not? I think they have interest in showing [Episode] 12 going into Rouge [One], but that depends on how the show does. They look good on a big screen."

Gilroy then confirmed that the version seen on the big screen will not be accessible on Disney+, saying:

"We've never done that. When we cut them together for the [Episodes] 1, 2, and 3 theatrical [cut], we do, we put all the credits at the end. People should be able to watch them, like, if you want to watch one episode on the first night and the second episode the second night, there should be a way to do that."

What is Andor about?

The two-season acclaimed series follows Diego Luna's titular character, Cassian Andor's journey from a survivor of the Republic's oppressive actions to a revolutionary, who will be responsible for transmitting the Death Star plan to the rebel ship at the beginning of 1977's A New Hope.

"A story about revolution, Andor focuses on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make in the galaxy. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how diverse peoples and worlds became involved. It is an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian embarks on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero."
