It's been nearly six years since the last Big Little Lies season, but creator David E Kelley is hopeful that the show will be renewed for another season. The drama series starring A-listers is an adaptation of Liane Moriarty's novel of the same name, which was released in 2014.

Big Little Lies Season 1 premiered in 2017, and Season 2 two years after that in 2019, with a phenomenal cast list including actors such as Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, among others. It has been half a decade without another season.

However, in recent interviews, creator David E. Kelley has been expressing his hope for another season.

Recently, David E. Kelley, creator of the hit drama Big Little Lies, revealed that everyone, including the bosses and the actors involved in the project, is hopeful and committed to another season for the show.

Recently, at the Gotham TV Awards, David E. Kelley revealed to People Magazine that he's very hopeful for the third season while reminiscing on the great experience with the past two seasons:

"We're hoping it happens. We had a great time doing the first two seasons and we all want to do it again."

He also revealed that a lot of the cast is as committed as he is to another season, even though none of them are currently under contract, so bringing the project together would mean bringing a lot of artists, their publicists, and their schedules to line up.

"Need to corral a lot of high-caliber talent and their publicists, but everyone is very committed to it."

Witherspoon and Kidman, who are also executive producers for Big Little Lies, revealed in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter that they'd been toying with the concept for the third season and pitching it to the network, trying to put together the next season.

"I’ve got Laura [Dern] calling me and Zoë [Kravitz] and Shailene [Woodley]. They’re all like, ‘Nic said that we’re making Big Little Lies season three?"

To make things even better, there is already a rough idea of what the third season will be about, since Liane Moriarty, the author of the novel series from which the show has been adapted, has written another book, which will be adapted for the third season, as revealed by Kelley.

"I think it’s a credit to Liane Moriarty, too, who wrote the original book. And she’s written another book that season three will be based on. It’s a pretty good collection of talent."

The drama was released in 2017, and since then, its popularity only seems to be growing. This has much to do with the big names who are attached to the project, including A-listers like Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Reese Witherspoon, Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, Ivy George, and Laura Dern.

Everyone involved with Big Little Lies is trying to get it back for the third season, so fans of the show might just get to see it come to life.
