MobLand Episode 6 saw the tension between the Harrigan and the Stevenson families reaching a boiling point as Conrad not only called Richie after Vron’s car blew up, but also admitted to causing the blast. Eddie also confessed that it was indeed him, who had killed Richie’s son, Tommy, the reason behind the war between the two families starting.
Conrad’s move is clearly criticised by Kevin, but his father humiliates him and Maeve is always there to fuel more fire into the already escalated situation. As Richie seems unusually calm over his call with Conrad and simply tells him that he should run, the Harrigans realize that Brendan and Seraphina are out of reach.
While the duo had gone to do some business of their own, the family did not know it and that naturally created an air of tension. As Harry is entrusted with bringing Brendan and Seraphina back, something unexpected happens at the Harrigan household, that Conrad has no idea about.
Maeve goes behind Conrad’s back in MobLand Episode 6
As it has already been established, Maeve seems to have her own agenda on MobLand and it might negatively impact Conrad more than it shows. From encouraging Eddie for his rowdy behavior to trying to manipulate Conrad against Harry, Maeve’s behavior seems to be rash and often impulsive.
However, what she does in MobLand Episode 6, shows she might be more dangerous than what was thought previously. As she tells Conrad that if it comes to war and she has to give her children up, she would give up both Brendan and Seraphina because those two are liabilities. Since Seraphina is not her child, her sentiment towards her is still understandable, but hearing her say the same about Brenda makes Conrad say that sometimes it feels like Maeve is the devil himself.
While initially it seemed like Maeve was only saying it for the sake of a conversation about a situation that may or may not happen, her subsequent call to Richie proves that she meant what she said. Telling Eddie that while playing chess one needs to make sacrificial moves, Maeve calls Richie and tells him the location of Brendan and Seraphina.
However, she makes it clear that only Seraphine is to be taken and harmed and if anything happens to Brendan, then Richie should know what would come for him. While it was clear that Maeve never liked Seraphina, it was never thought that she would go to this extent to get her out of the family, especially when she knew that her own son Brendan was with her.
Conrad has no idea that this has happened and by the end of MobLand Episode 6, it is shown that both Brendan and Seraphina are taken by armed men who suddenly reach the location where the step-siblings were doing their deal. Harry was also on the way there but it is clear that Richie’s men got to them before he could.
While their fates have not been revealed in episode 6, Brendan and Seraphina are now both captives and it will be interesting to see how Conrad reacts to this news when he comes to know about it. With only two episodes left for MobLand to wrap up its first season, it seems to be high time for Conrad to look into his own family and ensure that they don’t die of a civil war before Richie gets to them.
MobLand can be streamed on Paramount+.
