Is Ethan Slater in Gen V? All about the actor’s role in the Prime Video series

Fans of The Boys universe eagerly waited for Gen V Season 2, and the spinoff has finally made it to Prime Video. Instead of focusing on adult superheroes and politics, this show zooms in on college-age superheroes.

At the heart of Gen V is the Godolkin University, run by none other than Vought, where only Super (individuals with supernatural powers) are taken in. These Supes are trained to hunt for contracts in cities, where they can use their abilities.

In simple words, these are young heroes, trying to fit in the superhero world that's so not mighty. Season 1 introduced viewers to Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, who can manipulate blood and dreams to become one of the members of The Seven.

The first chapter also introduced other key students at the university through Marie's perspective. While these main characters returned, fans are also curious about Ethan Slater's involvement in Season 2. Is he really playing a role?

The answer is yes. Ethan Slater joined the cast of Gen V Seaso 2 as Thomas Godolkin, the man who originally founded Godolkin University. Interestingly, Thomas isn't just popular because the college is named after him, but also for his involvement in a secret plan called Project Odessa.

Ethan Slater's role as Thomas Godolkin in Gen V Season 2 explored

Gen V Season 2 premiered on Prime Video on September 17, 2025, and this chapter not only connects with the events in Season 1, but also with what happened in The Boys Season 4. The plot is more intense with the country on the edge of a Human versus Supe conflict.

Despite their reluctance, Marie, Emma, and Jordan are back at Godolkin University. They meet the new dean, Cipher, who is now promoting the "Super superirotoy" philosophy among the students.

Apart from the main characters, fans have also found Ethan Slater's character quite interesting and mysterious. While he's known for being the founder of the college, Godolkin is also tied to a mysterious plan in the story.

He appears in the flashback scenes of Gen V Season 2, in which viewers get a dive into what type of man Godolkin was. What makes Slater's casting in Season 2 even more exciting is the possibility of his character appearing in the prequel.

What did Eric Kripke say about Ethan Slater's potential return as Thomas Godolkin in Vought Rising?

Eric Kripke, the showrunner of The Boys, already hinted that Thomas Godolkin could appear in the prequel, Vought Rising, which is also in the works. During his interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said:

"If Vought Rising works and we can keep doing more [seasons], I think we'd be insane to not put Ethan Slater's character in that show."

Kripke continued:

"He's right there, lined up for a younger Thomas Godolkin. We've discussed it."

And now, fans can get a glimpse into Godolkin's life through the flashbacks in Gen V Season 2. Episode 4 of the spin-off also hints that the dead man in Cipher's house is Thoman Godolkin, who tried to save himself but failed.
