Dexter: Resurrection is streaming now, and the ten-episode season has built a compelling storyline for its fans.
The show sees many actors reprising their roles in the popular Dexter franchise, including Michael C. Hall reprising his role as the titular character, alongside many prominent industry names like Uma Thurman, Jack Alcott, David Zayas, and more.
However, one of the most pertinent questions that fans have had since before the release of the show is - Will Jennifer Carpenter reprise her role in Dexter: Resurrection? Well, unfortunately, the actress is not back for this season of the show.
Jennifer Carpenter played the character of Debra Morgan, Dexter's adoptive sibling, in the Dexter franchise. However, she does not return to the franchise in Dexter: Resurrection.

Jennifer Carpenter shared that she felt her journey with Debra Morgan was complete before Dexter: Resurrection
Back in February, during the premiere of 1923 Season 2, the actress revealed that she would not be reprising her role as Debra Morgan any longer in the Dexter franchise.
Speaking about the same, she said,
"I am pretty focused where I am, and I feel like I’ve completed that box. I’m proud of it."
She continued to wish the best for her fellow actors in the Dexter franchise.
"I hope that they’re having a wonderful time… And I’m so happy for the fans to have more to chew on."
The character of Debra Morgan has been in the Dexter franchise ever since the beginning of the show, and Jennifer Carpenter did a phenomenal job portraying the role, carefully treading through the nuances of the relationship between the two.
The relationship between the Morgan siblings evolves over the various shows in the franchise, and it is complicated to say the least. This is because of Debra's feelings towards Dexter, which stem from a place of dependency and also a string of failed relationships.
Carpenter has been in all 96 episodes of Dexter, right from 2006 to 2013. In the season finale, her character is removed from the show after she is taken off life support after being shot. Since her character arc is complete, Carpenter has made it clear that she will not be returning to her role as Debra Morgan in the Dexter franchise.
