Is Katie Leung going to be in Bridgerton Season 4? Her role in the upcoming season, explored

Bridgerton fans have to be patient for a little more time as season 4 of the period drama will be arriving in 2026. As with any show, Bridgerton Season 4 will also see some new faces and one of the most notable among them is Katie Leung, who will be playing the role of Lady Araminta Gun.

Her character has been developed with antagonistic qualities and she is shown to have two daughters, Rosamund and Posy. Besides following the love story between Sophie and Benedict, Bridgerton Season 4 will also focus on the marriage prospects of Rosamund and Posy.

Talking about her character, Katie Leung told Collider:

“I would never call her evil because I adore her — I think she’s absolutely fabulous. She’s just heavily misunderstood.”

While she could not delve any more greater details about her character, her words do give a fair idea about what to expect from Lady Araminta Gun.

Katie Leung stars in Bridgerton Season 4

As mentioned previously, Harry Potter fame Katie Leung will be starring in Bridgerton Season 4 as a new addition. Her character, Araminta has been officially described as someone who is

“fabulous, discerning, and blunt.”

She does not like it when someone threatens her place that she has built in the society and she is also

“twice-married and twice-widowed.”

One interesting aspect of Katie’s casting in Season 4 is her age, which many on the internet mentioned as being too young to be a mother. However, Katie, now in her late 30s, has defended the casting choice. In an interview with Refinery29, she said:

“In the Regency Era, [women] would have been married off in their teens so it's perfectly plausible that I would have teens. Maybe it's to do with ‘Asian don't raisin,’ which is kind of partly true, but at the same time, it’s still a Western perspective, right? I don't get my Asian mates coming to me saying I look 12.”

While Katie’s age can be a matter of controversy, the Bridgerton universe has never really shied away from young marriages and the fact that Katie has already been married and widowed twice at this young age only hints at the toughness that her character would bring.

It is probably her struggles with life that has given rise to her antagonistic qualities as she has been used to looking out for herself from a young age.

Since the fourth installment of the show will also bring Araminta’s daughter in the forefront regarding marriage, it would be interesting to see Katie as a fierce and protective mother, who is unlikely to stop at anything before getting the best grooms for her daughter.
