Is Lupin going to be renewed for a Season 4? Details revealed 

Lupin, the French thriller series, has been renewed for season four by Netflix. The show was first released in 2021 and became a global success due to its clever storytelling and charming protagonist. The second and third seasons of Lupin arrived in June 2021 and October 2023, respectively, and kept fans hooked to the story that is rooted in revenge and the thirst for justice.

Netflix has not yet revealed a date for Lupin season 4's release, but filming has begun. With the upcoming season in production, we can expect season four to release in late 2025 or early 2026.

About Lupin

Lupin is the story of Assane Diop, a charming and intelligent thief. Assane's father had arrived in France with him years ago, in the hope of a better life. But Hubert Pellegrini, Assane's father's employer, had framed him for stealing a diamond necklace, which led to his arrest and eventual death in prison. Twenty-five years later, inspired by the classic French character, Arsène Lupin, Assane uses disguises and tricks to seek revenge and get justice for his family.

Assane does not steal for himself, he steals only for the sake of revenge. But in season three of Lupin, he steals the Black Pearl. Besides, in season three, he also fakes his death, saves his mother’s life, and tries to mend his relationship with his wife and son. But finally, he realizes that the only way his family can have a safe and peaceful life is if he goes to prison. Thus, season three of Lupin ends with Assane turning himself in and going to prison.

Lupin was created by George Kay and François Uzan. Omar Sy stars as Assane, and his portrayal of the charming and intelligent Assane Diop has made him a fan favorite. Over the seasons, we’ve watched Assane go head-to-head with corrupt families, dodge police, and protect the people he loves. Every episode of the show brings a new twist that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

While there is no official logline for season four yet, we will hopefully get to see Assane out of prison. There are bound to be new challenges and new characters who will wreak havoc in Assane's life, but fans want to see the intelligent thief come out winning. This is not the first time that audiences have given a 'criminal' this much love and support, but Assane is surely special. To Omar Sy, Assane is equally special.

Omar Sy, in conversation with Netflix, said,

“I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything,”

He continued,

“I find great joy in it every time.”

Fans all over the world have been eagerly waiting for the return of the thriller series. With filming underway, we know the story is not yet over. Assane Diop still has more tricks up his sleeve, and season four is shaping up to be one of the most exciting ones yet.

You can stream the first three seasons of Lupin on Netflix. The show's fourth season is currently in production and will hopefully arrive on Netflix in late 2025 or early-mid 2026.
