Dexter: Resurrection Episode 6, "Cats and Mouse" shocked viewers in the final act with a twist involving twins. However, the episode also contained another twist in which the seductive Mia LaPierre/Lady Vengeance is seen hanging inside her prison cell. The episode does not confirm if Mia is dead or not, which has fans debating her fate in the series.

Now, actress Krysten Ritter has also joined the debate. The actress sat down for an interview with Collider this week. In that interview, Ritter gave a tantalizing hint to the fans, clearly indicating that we shouldn't consider Mia LaPierre dead in the sixth episode of Dexter: Resurrection. The actress's exact words were:

"Well, I wouldn’t count me out yet."

This tease has fans hopeful for Ritter's return in an upcoming episode of Dexter: Resurrection, or a possible future season.

What do Krysten Ritter's words mean for Dexter: Resurrection?

This comment suggests that, for now, Lady Vengeance has managed to survive the attempt on her life that Peter Dinklage's Leon Prater set up. In the universe of Dexter, death is not definite until the victim is definitively killed, either by shooting or by a knife. Thus, death by strangulation might be something that one can probably survive.

When Ritter was asked what she felt after reading the script for Dexter: Resurrection Episode 6, the actress responded:

"It was so exciting. I read the script at home, and I felt like each scene started getting better and better. And I loved the twist. I was also so happy that the majority of my scenes were opposite Michael C. Hall, and I had a scene with Uma Thurman, and obviously, the dinner party with all of this insane cast of serial killers. I was like, “Oh, this is so good.” And I then love the twist that she's not what she seems. For me, this role was absolute candy, and I had so much fun doing it. So, we’ll see. Maybe it’s not the end of this character. We’ll see."

After this answer, the Collider interviewer also asked Ritter how she approached her scenes in the episode. The interviewer especially pointed towards her character and Dexter's contrasting approach to killing their victims. To this, Ritter gave this answer:

"You know, I just found as many opportunities as possible. Obviously, you always want to play as truthfully as you can and then find the moments where we can see a glimpse of playfulness or a glimpse of her deranged, psychotic nature, and finding a way to just put so many colors into this character. And because the writing was so good, I had so many opportunities to have a fully realized, juicy, dark, glamorous, sexy character. As an actress, there's just nothing better. It's just so fun, and I had so much fun doing it."

Then, the Dexter: Resurrection actress continued:

"And I feel like, each day, doing a scene, I was sinking into her a little bit more. I just had the best time doing it, and the whole writing team is so fantastic, and working with Michael was so fantastic. It was really such a highlight for me, in terms of the roles that I have, I'm so fortunate. Obviously, it's a great role, I'm so lucky. This was like — it took it even further. I don't know, I feel like I've had such amazing opportunities and such great roles. This one was just like, “What the fuck?” It was even going further than I hoped."

All of this seems to hint that episode 6 is not the last we have seen of Dexter: Resurrection. The fourth and fifth episodes of the series did hint at an attraction between Dexter and Mia. But it should be said that in the fifth episode, Mia reveals herself to be like every other serial killer Dexter has hunted, as she expressed pleasure in killing.

Thus, it remains to be seen if she will be an ally or a thorn on Dexter's side in the future.
