Ever since the porch lights went off in the Modern Family households, fans of the sitcom have been hoping for a chance to witness the family again through a reboot of the show. The connection that the cast members share, even off-screen and years after the show wrapped up, continues to tease the fans praying for a reunion.
In a recent conversation with Collider, Julie Bowen, who played Claire, addressed the possibility of a Modern Family reboot being in the works. Here's what she revealed about the possibilities surrounding a reboot for the fan-loved sitcom.
Julie Bowen addresses rumors of a Modern Family reboot

Julie Bowen is reuniting with Adam Sandler for Happy Gilmore 2, and during the promotional tour with Sandler, in a conversation with Collider, she addressed the rumors of a Modern Family reboot.
She explained that she would show up anywhere and anytime for that group of people, referring to the Modern Family cast and crew, but there is no such project under wraps. She reiterates the importance that the show has had in her life, be it emotionally or financially, and she would be available for whatever they needed, much like she would be for Sandler.
"I’ve always said that we’d all show up in a cow field… This is not a cow field. It’s a beautiful, beautiful golf course. But I’d show up anywhere for that group of people, much like I'll show up for Adam if he calls."
Bowen has only love and the nicest words for the cast and crew involved with the show, yet she is very clear in dispelling any rumors about a reboot project in the works.
"There are a few projects where you just go, ‘Yes. Whatever you need.’ Because it provided me with so much joy, and it has benefited me in every way — emotionally, financially, all the ways. So, you just show up. I would love that."
When questioned about a possible spin-off that was reported towards the end of Modern Family, Bowen revealed that it was a project involving Cam and Mitch, living on the farm along with Lily, and Bowen wasn't involved in it. Still, it also died down soon after:
"There was a spin-off for a second that didn't go, so maybe that gave somebody cold feet. I have no idea. It was all during COVID. It was Cam and Mitchell on a farm. The gay couple goes and lives back on a farm. I have no idea what happened with it. I wasn't involved with it. I would always support them and love them, but maybe they just need to give it a minute. Or they’re casting for younger people right now."
Eric Stonestreet, who played Cam, also confirmed that the spin-off wasn't happening in a conversation with Variety:
"I don’t think it’s potential anymore. They had their chance. Chris Lloyd and a couple of the writers wrote a really great script that spun Jesse and I off in our life in Missouri, and they said, ‘No.’ They just said, ‘We don’t want to do it.’"
Even though it is every Modern Family sitcom fan's dream to get more of the family, it appears that, apart from the WhatsApp ad, there isn't much we're getting anytime soon.
