9-1-1 is no stranger to crossovers, and ABC is known for its exciting crossovers, which are a treat to fans of both shows. The storylines intricately intertwine with each other to bring out the best of both shows, which goes a long way in enticing viewers.
9-1-1 is one of the biggest police procedural dramas on the ABC network, and it is also known for some of the most epic crossovers, including its spin-off, Lone Star, and the latest ABC show, Doctor Odyssey. Jennifer Love Hewitt, who plays Maddie on 9-1-1, recently pitched an interesting idea for a possible crossover with another LA-based ABC show, High Potential.
Even though such a crossover does not take root from the actors' comments and is completely a decision of the creative and writing teams of both shows, here are the possibilities about the feasibility of such a crossover between the two shows.
Is a 9-1-1 and High Potential crossover, as suggested by Jennifer Love Hewitt, possible?

A crossover episode can be extremely hard on both shows, as it involves a lot of technical and logical details to line up, and for two shows such as 9-1-1 and High Potential, which have similarities but many well-established differences as well, such a feat is even more difficult.
Is a shared storyline possible for both shows?
Considering the positives of a crossover between 9-1-1 and High Potential, we have a lot of similarities between the two shows. First up, both shows are set in Los Angeles, making it easier to create a storyline that places both the first responders and the detectives on the same case.
As suggested by Jennifer Love Hewitt in her conversation with Awards Buzz, Morgan references dispatch quite a lot, and it could be feasible narratively if Maddie or Buck were to be the first responder whom Morgan contacts in case of an emergency:
"she's always referencing — they're in LA — and she's always referencing dispatch. And I'm like, 'She has got to come to the dispatch center, or I have to go to her.' Or, I feel like we could do both ... one of their episodes could end with her coming to my dispatch center, and then I could enter her[s] next episode."

It cannot be too difficult to create a narrative where the two worlds interact with each other. However, one difficulty that arises with this is the expectation that is created with a crossover. As explained by Alexi Hawley, creator and showrunner of The Rookie, another ABC police procedural, when asked about a crossover with 9-1-1:
"To me, that’s a hard crossover, just because you have an expectation that you’re going to see [9-1-1 characters] all the time if you accommodate even one stunt-y crossover. "If we’re both in the same universe in Los Angeles, how are we not stumbling over them all the time?""
If a narrative crossover is crafted easily, it raises the question of future crossovers, because Morgan calling 911 and getting Maddie can be a common event, and if it doesn't happen more often, it disrupts the logic of the show.
Even though a crossover between two of the biggest shows on ABC could be an extremely profitable collaboration for both shows, it would come with its own brand of difficulties.
Nevertheless, if such a crossover were to happen, at the very least, we know one of the actors who is completely on board with the plan, as Jennifer Love Hewitt has expressed:
"I am obsessed with the show High Potential...But I just need to work with that show. I just wanna be on that show. And I think it would be so fun. Wouldn’t that be cool? I think it would be really, really fun because her character is so fun, and I just feel like she and Maddie would just really fun to watch together."
