Following the success of Tulsa King, the makers are gearing up for the spin-off series, NOLA King. It will bring back Samuel L. Jackson who also appeared alongside Sylvester Stallone in Season 3 of the hit show.

So, is there a release date for NOLA King? As of now, there's no confirmed release date. The update of the spin-off series was confirmed in July 2025, which means that it's not coming anytime soon, at least not this year or in the first half of 2026.

Filming is expected to take several months, followed by post-production work. It suggests that NOLA King might arrive by the end of 2026 on Paramount+ for streaming.

As explained earlier, NOLA King's release date hasn't been confirmed by Paramount+ so far. Even the filming of the series is expected to begin in early 2026, which hints that it will arrive by the end of 2026 or the start of 2027.

The story will focus on Samuel L. Jackson's Russell Lee Washington Jr., who met Dwight while they both were serving prison sentences. The two formed a bond, and later when Washington was also released, he was asked to kill Dwight.

And when he went to Tulsa, Washington decided not to follow the Renzetti crime family's order and leave for New Orleans. Russell Lee Washington Jr. wanted to rebuild his life and the relationship with his loved ones, instead of only focusing on the crime world.

And now, fans will see him returning to the screen in the spin-off series. The logline reads:

"NOLA King’ follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson) who, after befriending Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) during a ten-year stint in federal prison,... Washington returns to New Orleans, the home he abandoned forty years ago, to rekindle his relationship with his family, friends, and to take control of the city he left behind."

The logline continues:

"In so doing, he incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York and makes himself vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop."

Even Sylvester Stallone mentioned that Jackson is the "only choice to anchor this new adventure" in the spin-off series. The actor will also serve in the executive production team along with Jackson and Taylor Sheridan.

The former co-CEO of Paramount Global also said:

"Samuel L. Jackson brings unparalleled presence and global appeal, making him the perfect choice to maximize the momentum of one of our biggest hits and transform it into a hit franchise."

Additionally, the other main cast members haven't been confirmed, but we do know that the story will take place in New Orleans. Washington remained loyal to Dwight and moved on in his life.
