Is there a release date for Slow Horses Season 6? Here’s what we know

Slow Horses Season 6 was first announced in October 2024 when Apple TV renewed the spy-thriller series for a new season. Later, Season 7 was also announced in July 2025. Season 5 wrapped up on October 29, 2025, and also gave us a trailer for Slow Horses Season 6.

Filming of Season 6 wrapped up in February 2025 and will premiere in 2026, but the release date of the upcoming season has not been shared yet. However, since the last two seasons had been premiering in September, the speculations around the premiere date hint at a September 2026 release.

Apple TV has not confirmed a release date for Season 6 of the spy thriller series yet.

Is there a release date for Slow Horses Season 6? Speculations explored

Slow Horses Season 5, which was based on Mick Herron's novel London Rules, concluded in October 2025. The series also provided a sneak peek into the upcoming season of the spy thriller.

As per the trailer of Slow Horses Season 6, the focus would definitely be on the agents of the Slough House as they will go into hiding after a leak that would threaten their lives. Furthermore, we will also get to see Diana Taverner in action after becoming the First Desk of MI5, which she had been trying to become for a long time. Furthermore, we will also see River's father, Frank Harness, a former CIA operative, returning to the series after his explosive introduction in Season 4 of Slow Horses.

While we can be sure that Season 6 will premiere in 2026, the release date has not been announced yet. The first season of the acclaimed Apple TV series premiered in April. After that, the following two seasons were released in December and November. However, the last two seasons followed a similar plan and were released in September, due to which a September 2026 premiere month has been speculated by fans.

Christopher Chung, who plays Roddy Ho in the series, revealed in the Schön interview that filming on season 6 was completed earlier this year, in February. However, a specific release date has not been shared yet.

Slow Horses Season 6: cast details and more

After Season 5, which was based on London Rules, Season 6 of Slow Horses is said to be covering two of Mick Herron's novels, namely, Slough House and Joe Country. With Gary Oldman's Jackson Lamb, all of his Slough House members, such as Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, and Tom Brooke, will also return. Hugo Weaving will also be back as Frank Harness in the upcoming season.

While the fan-favorite actors will return for the new season, there have been several changes behind the scenes of the show. It was earlier reported that Will Smith, who created the show and ran for the first five seasons, will not be returning for the upcoming seasons. As per Entertainment Weekly, Gaby Chiappe has adapted Season 6 of the series for the screen, and the season will be directed by Ben Vanstone.

Furthermore, Adam Randall, who earlier directed Season 4, has also directed the upcoming season. While Season 5 was mostly about the internal politics, Season 6 is said to be more action-oriented. Chung, in his Schön interview, confirmed this and shared:

"The sequences in season six are jaw-droppingly good. It’s a lot more action-heavy, very high-octane."
