After watching the cliffhanger in the latest chapter, fans are now wondering when The Diplomat Season 4 will arrive. Since Season 3 came out this year on Netflix, it's almost impossible for the fourth season to arrive anytime soon.

This means that there's no confirmed release date for The Diplomat Season 4. However, reports suggest that filming will start in November 2025, and fans can expect the new season to be released at the end of 2026.

The predictions for the next season come from the timeline that the series has followed so far. Netflix released every season during the fall, so it's likely that Season 4 will drop in fall 2026.

As for the story, Season 3 concluded on a cliffhanger: the Poseidon missile is no longer inside the Russian submarine. So where is it? The answers remain unknown, but Kate doubts Hal and Grace carried out the theft.

If this turns out to be true, it could be taken as an act of war by the British Prime Minister. Notably, the creator of The Diplomat called the finale "bone chilling", suggesting Hal and Grace chose betrayal.

No. There's no confirmed release date for The Diplomat Season 4, even though the series has been renewed, and filming will begin in November 2025. Considering the end of Season 3, the next chapter will pick up right from where fans were left with several questions.

Allison Janney, who appears as Vice President Grace Penn, mentioned that she's unaware of the exact plot of Season 4, but she knows that things are going to get messier. Janney said:

"...I know it’s got to be more, more mess for these characters personal lives for sure and more complicated geopolitical concerns and messes they have to deal with."

The actress continued:

"I think it’s going to be Debora at her best taking this over the next season, and I just hope for more really brutal, brutal decisions to have to make..."

Janney wants more chaos in the personal and professional lives of the characters. She would like to explore the political world getting darker, exposing more truths, and raising the stakes.

Revisiting the finale of The Diplomat Season 3

While The Diplomat Season 4 release date remains a hot topic among fans, many are still reeling from the finale of Season 3. It looked like everything had calmed down: Kate and Hal had made up, and the nuclear crisis with Russia looked resolved.

But then a massive twist occurs: the Russian Poseidon missile is missing. Kate learns via Callum that the missile has vanished from the Russian submarine, and its disappearance leads her to believe that Hal and President Grace Penn had stolen it without anyone's knowledge.

If Kate is right, that would be an act of war against the UK since they had lied to Prime Minister Trowbridge about their plans. Grace told everyone she had sent a drone to look into things, but it was actually a robust U.S. submarine capable of carrying the missile.

The eye contact Hal makes with Grace, in addition to his advising Kate to tell no one, gives Kate enough conviction to believe that they are concealing something. And the secret will be out in The Diplomat Season 4 on Netflix.
