Ruby Stokes was in Bridgerton for Season 1 and briefly in Season 2 and starred as Francesca Bridgerton, the sixth Bridgerton sibling. In comparison to the other siblings, Francesca is portrayed as the quiet and reserved one.

It is in Season 3 that she enters the marriage market, finds John (Victor Alli), and falls in love with him. Their love story comes out as more reflective, referred to as "slow Beauty" by her mother. Francesca tells her mother that she often loses her voice amidst the house chaos, but with John, she can "listen to herself more and more."

After Season 2, because of a scheduling conflict and her leading role in another title on Netflix, Lockwood & Co., Ruby Stokes exited Bridgerton, and the role was recast by Hannah Dodd.

As mentioned, Ruby played the youngest sister in Bridgerton for two seasons and exited on the third, passing over the role to Hannah Dodd. She exited the show after shooting 3 episodes for Season 2, due to scheduling conflicts with Lockwood & Co., another Netflix title.

During Seasons 1 and 2, her character was barely introduced as a different sibling. She sees the world differently, is quieter and kinder than most of them. To keep herself sane and enjoy more solitary time, she mostly lives out of London with her aunt Winnie in Bath and only appears in some family gatherings and functions. This is the reason why she was initially not part of the central narrative, but eventually her arc develops into the most true-to-life love story depicted in the show.

When she is asked about the type of guy she would like to marry, she simply replies someone who is 'kind". Like Eloise, who is odd in a way that she opposes these norms, Francesca appears comfortable blending in while still being thoughtful and independent, albeit in a much more subtle fashion. Midway in Season 2, she heads back to Bath, and Ruby Stokes leaves the show, given the scheduling conflict.

It was from Season 3 that Francesca's role was given its due importance, a proper introduction and development of the character. Hannah's Francesca made her debut in London's marriage market. Continuing the reserved and solitary nature of the character, she is eventually pulled into the spotlight by her family. She forms a bond with John Stirling, a kind man who is equally reserved. We see some chemistry brewing under the surface; although it is underestimated in the narrative, it proves to be genuine as time progresses. Just slower in comparison to her other siblings.

Even the love that Francesca is seen experiencing is more introspective and mature, adding layers to her internal character arc. Therefore, we can say that her journey was more of a quiet self-discovery, being a woman who doesn't seek attention but desires a deep connection in life.

While her siblings are fascinated by and keep chasing grand love stories, in contrast, she is portrayed as the grounded and more reflective one, making her a unique character in the show with immense potential to explore.

The show has been renewed for six seasons, while the upcoming Season 4 is expected to drop in 2026.
