Hanni followed him to have a conversation. Opening up about her decision to him, Love is Blind: Germany cast member told him:
"I only want to get married the one time. And I want you to have the best wife that you could ever wish for in this life. And...if I can't be that person right now, then I don't want to disappoint you and say yes...just because I'm feeling it in that moment at the altar. It should be a 1000 percent yes."
Love is Blind: Germany Finale: Hanni refuses to get married to Daniel at the altar
Netflix recently aired the social experiment's finale episode on January 17, 2025. One of the couples on the show's finale was Hanni and Daniel. At the wedding, the officiant asked Hanni her decision, and she said:
"I've often told you how I feel about you. And I've told you that you're the best man I've ever met. I feel so grateful to have gotten to know you. Even so, I feel that we haven't had enough time. It hasn't been enough time to properly say a yes that's forever and 100% certain. And I hope you understand."
Witnessing Hanni refusing to get married, Daniel took a moment to process it and then said it was fine. He then left the altar alone and thanked everyone while leaving.
Soon after Daniel left the altar, Hanni followed him to his suite. She went by his side, and they sat together. Love is Blind: Germany star Daniel asked her what she said at the altar, to which extent she "really" meant it.
"For me to say yes to him wasn't right. I just didn't have the feeling of being 1000 percent sure enough to say, "I do" without changing my mind. I get the sense that his feelings are already much deeper than mine. And I'm scared that I won't ever get to that level," confessed Hanni.
Hanni told him that she "only wanted" to get married once and she also wanted him to have the "best wife" he could ever wish for.
The female cast member added that she didn't want to disappoint him by saying yes, merely for the sake of "feeling it" at that moment.
She then asked Daniel, "What would you have said?" Daniel replied that he would have said "yes."
