Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary has extended his support to the controversial Big Beautiful Bill by President Donald Trump.

O'Leary shared a clip on Instagram from an interview where the host pointed out how Elon Musk, a billionaire figure who has supported the administration from the days of them campaigning last year, and advocated for MAGA, is now rejecting the bill and publicly expressed his disregard for the same by calling it a "disgusting abomination."

Kevin, who addressed this controversy in the interview, offered his perspective on the matter. He said that people don't realize that most jobs in the US come from the efforts of small businesses, and thus, everyone is very concerned about this bill.

He pointed out that the bill contains provisions, especially on the tax front, that might need some changes, and Kevin revealed how he has been actively engaging with the senators to address some of the critical issues.

As for Musk's post, the Shark Tank investor explained, it was more than a rant and a catalyst that set off a chain reaction from many other politicians. He said,

“What happened when that bomb dropped... and I think you’ve given it a good analogy. It was a bomb. It set off a narrative that Ron Johnson has carried forward.”

Kevin revealed that Ron Johnson, another key player in the unfolding of this legislative drama, has released a chart in response to Elon's statement. It highlights the unsustainable trajectory of the U.S. deficit.

He said,

"This chart, very simple. It says that pre-pandemic, deficits were sub one trillion regardless of administration, and all of a sudden post pandemic, they are all over two trillion, and that's not sustainable. And that's a good question. There's no question about it. Why is that the case?"

Continuing, he added,

"He may need to get an answer because that's exactly why Elon dropped that. And so, they are putting a lot of pressure on lawmakers here to go find a way to get this closer to a break-even budget, not a 2 trillion dollar deficit in perpetuity, which is not sustainable."

According to the Shark Tank investor, the attacks that Elon has made were not just an emotion, but a strategy to get answers to his questions.

Concluding his statement, Kevin says he is a supporter of the bill even though there is a lot of criticism around it. He expressed,

"Now, having said all that, I need this bill to pass. In terms of all the businesses I have invested in. So I am pro-bill. But I think we have to deal with Ron Johnson and Elon's questions one way or another."

Shark Tank Season 16 episodes are available to stream online via Hulu.
