"It was lovely": Seth Rogen shares his feelings about winning four Emmys for The Studio on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Seth Rogen’s satirical comedy, The Studio, won big at the recently held 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. The series earned a record 23 nominations and won 13 awards, making it the most number of wins for a comedy series in a single season.

Co-created and starring Seth Rogen, The Studio, focuses on Matt Remick (Rogen), who is the new head of the struggling film production company, Continental Studios.

While the company wants to create movies that will help build profit, Remick wants to produce quality movies, while also keeping in mind the studio’s corporate aims.

The show premiered on Apple TV+ in March 2025 and has garnered critical and commercial success for its satire, direction, and tone. With just one season in tow, the series has been noted for its celebrity cameos and long takes.

Recently, Seth Rogen appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his new movie, Good Fortune, and talked about his four-Emmy win for The Studio, noting that “it was lovely”. More on this below.

Seth Rogen is known for creating and featuring in some of the most clever comedy movies and shows. The Studio, once again proved that the Canadian actor knew how to deliver the right amount of satire and humor. Therefore, at the 2025 Emmy Awards, Rogen’s show won in multiple categories and Rogen himself took home the prize for acting, producing, directing, and writing categories.

At Jimmy Kimmel Live, when congratulated about his recent wins, Seth Rogen talks about the fact that he went from “no Emmys to a lot of Emmys” in one night. Rogen mentions that “it was lovely” and even though his “ego got carried away”, he remembered that Guy Fiery has “like 40 Emmys” and that the Emmys are an important award but it’s not the Oscar.

Kimmel notes that Rogen mentioned in his speech that the only trophy he had was a bowling ball trophy that he bought at a rummage sale and Rogen accepts that he always wanted a trophy as a kid and as his parents never really thought that he would actually win one so they took him to an estate sale to get a bowling ball trophy.

The Studio won big at the 2025 Emmys and while collecting the award for Outstanding Comedy Series, Seth Rogen spoke about it being “embarrassing” as the show continued to win multiple awards through the night and he got the chance to share the stage with other respected artists. Rogen also thanked people for watching, appreciating, and voting for the show. The show also won the award for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Directing for a Comedy Series, and Writing for a Comedy Series. And it was no wonder that Rogen was the honoree in each category.

With excitement building up around Season 2 of the show, news has been confirmed that along with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez, Sarah Polley will also joins the writers’ room. Rogen mentions to Deadline that she is “hilarious” and has a lot of “insight”. Further, she has won an Oscar and awards will be a theme in the next season. She is also a “great writer”.

Interestingly, Rogen and Goldberg also mentioned in the same interview that they don’t consider The Studio as a satire as Rogen thinks that a satire focuses on a serious thing and makes it funny. However, according to him, the series has taken an “inherently trivial” thing and added “stakes” to it.
