Timothy Olyphant was a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers on September 26, 2025.

During the conversation, Olyphant discussed his bleached eyebrows and described the experience as far more "painful" and a lot less glamorous than one would imagine.

The revelation came after Meyers stated he was “excited” at the prospect of Alien: Earth Season 2 because he “enjoyed the finale”. To which Olyphant replied:

“Well, you are not the one who has to bleach your eyebrows.”

Meyers then went on to say how bleaching eyebrows must not be a quick, daily Hollywood makeup trick but rather a process he had to maintain for the duration of the shoot. To this, Olyphant said:

“At the risk of sounding like an actor… It hurts. It’s painful.”

When asked which is more painful, having bleached brows or when they bleach them, Olyphant responded:

“When they bleach them… No one ever tells you when they bleach… No one said it would be easy… But sometimes it’s even harder than you realize.”

What role does Timothy Olyphant play in Alien: Earth?

Timothy Olyphant's character, Kirsh, on Alien: Earth, is an advanced synthetic scientist for the Prodigy Company. Kirsh is the guardian and tutor of the first successful human-synthetic creation, Wendy, and serves as a philosophical leader to the Lost Boys, a group of experimental synthetic-human creations named after Peter Pan lore.

He starts as a devoted chief scientist of Prodigy, who appears reserved and critical of human weaknesses, such as mortality and attachment. He helps Wendy's growth as she challenges her synthetic nature and orchestrates a revolution, representing the aspects of being forever young, immortal, and the philosophical struggle between humans and synths.

Kirsch's motives are unclear for an entire season of Alien: Earth, as he does not share information with Boy Kavalier and possibly manipulates situations for a different agenda.

The series makes numerous allusions to Peter Pan: Wendy and the Lost Boys reject authority, and Kirsch, a possible symbolic reference to Tinker Bell, is both a benefactor and occasionally a villain.

In the series finale, Kirsh confronts Morrow, a cyborg who embodies another aspect of Prodigy's technology-hungry ambition. Their violent confrontation culminates with Kirsh remaining alive but gravely disabled. All of the villains, including Kirsh, Boy Kavalier, Dame Sylvia, Atom Eins, and Morrow, are imprisoned within the same cell in which the Lost Boys were once imprisoned.

Kirsh is left broken and immobile, symbolically overthrown from his previous position of authority. Wendy takes control of the island and the synths, appointing herself leader alongside the hybrids and rogue Xenomorphs.

There is no resolution for Kirsh, whose broken body indicates a potential return as an enemy, friend, or free agent should Alien: Earth be greenlit for Season 2.
