It has been four years since NCIS: New Orleans went off-air, but fans still fondly remember the series for its gripping cases and the camaraderie between the cast. A spin-off of the NCIS franchise, the show told the story of special agents stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The agents dealt with some high-stakes cases involving the United States Navy and Marine Corps. In procedural dramas like NCIS: New Orleans, the ensemble and their chemistry play an important role. Zoe McLellan, who starred in the first two seasons as Meredith Brody, talked about her experience of working with the cast in a 2015 interview with Lena Lamoray.

Revealing how the cast members get along well, McLellan said the experience of working on the show had been dreamy. She also credited Scott Bakula, who played the lead Dwayne Cassius Pride, for creating a positive environment on the sets and said:

“It’s pretty dreamy. I think there is an awesome chemistry. I think it starts with the fact that Scott Bakula is such a class act, such a good man. He’s so patient and cares. He has such high integrity and he really cares about people.”

Further talking about how she felt working on the show, Zoe McLellan said that Scott Bakula has such positive energy that it radiates on the whole set, which makes working on NCIS: New Orleans a dream experience:

“I think that his [Bakula’s] energy, because he’s our lead, just spreads throughout. There is no room for BS. He’s just a good guy, and that trickles down through the rest of the cast.”

McLellan also stated that the entire cast was grateful for the opportunity of starring in the show and adored each other, which further made their job easier, as they always had a good time on the set:

“I think the reality is that we are all just grateful. We know that we are blessed to have a job so we are all just doing our best, and we all get along. We adore each other, make each other laugh, and have a good time. It’s pretty dreamy and rare.”

The actress added that when her loved ones visited her on the set, even they were surprised by the fun working environment, which she believed was not the case on other shows:

“You know, when I have friends and family visit and they ask if all sets are like this. I have to say no, they are not. This is just special. We are all grateful, and we don’t take this for granted. We have a really beautiful gift her,e and we are blessed. We know that.”

NCIS: New Orleans premiered on CBS in 2014 and consistently achieved good ratings. The show concluded its seven-season run in 2021. Apart from Zoe McLellan and Scott Bakula, the series starred Lucas Black as Christopher LaSalle, Rob Kerkovich as Sebastian Lund, CCH Pounder as Loretta Wade, Shalita Grant as Sonja Percy, Daryl Mitchell as Patton Plame, and Vanessa Ferlito as Tammy Gregorio.
