Forward Cameron Brink of the Los Angeles Sparks recently had a positive update on her recovery while on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Brink, who competed against the Connecticut Sun on June 18, 2024, and tore her left ACL and meniscus, discussed her injury and recovery. Her bright start was cruelly halted when she succumbed to the injury just 15 games into her first season in the WNBA.

Discussing the incident with host Pat Sajak, Brink remembered, "I was at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut … a casino, very lucky. I tore my ACL, tore my meniscus as well, but it’s all surgically repaired now. So, I’m good. It’s just going to take me a couple months to be back."

Brink has been making great progress in her recovery despite the setback. Before the Sparks' May 25 home game against the Chicago Sky, she was spotted practicing shots. She has also begun her on-court exercises, including non-contact drills. Although she hasn't given a definite return date, her recent performance points to a possible return before the All-Star break. Her return to strengthen the Sparks' roster is much anticipated by both colleagues and fans.

Prior to the Sparks' May 25 home game against the Chicago Sky, she was recently spotted honing her shooting, which is encouraging for her year-long recuperation.

Off the field, Brink is dedicated to using sports as a means for empowering girls. Speaking for the Next22 Foundation on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, she highlighted the mission behind her charity, which is encouraging young girls to stay in the game of sport and reap the rewards of doing so.

“I’m playing for Next22 — it is a non-profit basketball camp that I hold every year in the state of Oregon,” Brink stated. “Hopefully with the money I can expand to Washington and California.”

Brink's commitment to her rehabilitation and charitable endeavors demonstrates her fortitude and perseverance on and off the court.
