The limited series, LUCKY, starring Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role, has wrapped filming. In an X post on July 25, 2025, Film Updates shared the news that principal photography of the show is over. The limited series is now moving toward its post-production phase.

The synopsis, according to the Apple TV+ official website, is:

"In 'Lucky,' Taylor-Joy stars as a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past."

The reveal follows months of mystery around the drama. While details remain scarce, it is now confirmed that LUCKY will be an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley. Per IMDb, Drew Starkey, Annette Bening, and Timothy Olyphant also make appearances in the series.

Not only does Taylor-Joy star in the show, she is one of the executive producers, too. Let us find out more about the series and its makers

Apple Studios and Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine are involved in the production of LUCKY

Production houses involved in the making of LUCKY include Apple Studios and Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine. Anya Taylor-Joy's role as one of the executive producers means she has an active stake in the creative aspect of the series.

Apple's official says the series is part of the platform's continued effort to promote premium original content. There are no details available yet about the number of episodes or the duration of each episode.

LUCKY is based on Marissa Stapley's novel of the same name

Marissa Stapley's internationally acclaimed book LUCKY is full of drama, crime, as well as redemptive moments, and features a character-driven narrative.

LUCKY will stream on Apple TV+

It will join Apple's expanding catalog of limited series, but in contrast to other shows currently available, the platform has been secretive about LUCKY, presumably to build the suspense. No other platform has been announced for the airing of the show apart from Apple TV +. First-look images, trailers, and cast interviews are eagerly awaited by fans, and so is the release date.
