Jensen Ackles reveals fun details of reunion with Jared Padalecki on The Boys Season 5

The Supernatural fans have been on a high since finding out about the mini-reunion on Eric Kripke's The Boys Season 5. It was already exciting to have Eric Kripke, the showrunner for The Boys and Supernatural (for 5 seasons), to be reunited with the Supernatural star Jensen Ackles when he took over the role of Soldier Boy in the third season.

However, this high was pushed up to a whole new level when it was revealed that Jared Padalecki, who played the second part of the leading duo, Sam Winchester, would also be appearing in Season 5 of the show. Fans cannot wait to witness the bond that the two brothers, Dean and Sam, shared on Supernatural, once again on The Boys.

Here's what Jensen Ackles revealed in a recent conversation with Collider about his experience working with Padalecki again after so long.

In a recent conversation on the red carpet for Countdown's promotion, Ackles' latest Prime Video series, he talked about his experience shooting with Padalecki again after so long. He revealed that their time shooting together reminded him just why they shared a screen together for 15 years, and just how well they got along with each other after being so close for so long:

"There’s a reason he and I did that show for 15 years because we truly got along, we truly enjoy working together, and we’re effectively brothers in real life, too. So anytime we get a chance to mix it up and do stuff, it’s always a blast. He’s the best. You can put us two in front of anything; we’ll get the job done."

While we know that Jensen Ackles will be reprising the role of Soldier Boy on the fifth and final season of the show, as the Season 4 ending gave us a glimpse into Homelander finding out that Soldier Boy, his father, was somehow still alive, and kept in a medical coma, a fact that was hidden from Homelander, we have no hints regarding that Jared Padalecki will be taking up on The Boys Season 5.

Misha Collins, another Supernatural co-star, will also be appearing on Season 5, and the only thing we know about this reunion on the show so far is that the trio will be sharing the screen. So, even though there's no information about Padalecki and Collins' characters, this is still good news for the fans, as revealed by Kripke:

"It’s a blast. We already shot it. I will confirm that Jared, Jensen, and Misha are all in the same frame together, and in the same storyline, and interacting with each other."

Additionally, in a conversation with CBR, Ackles revealed that he had finished shooting his portion of the fifth season, and that there's a chance that the season would wrap up filming by next month, referring to July.

"The Boys is currently filming Season Five right now. They finish, I think, next month. I just finished The Boys on Tuesday, [June 9th], and I think I've got all my stuff done. But I don't know. You never know. They might have to bring me back for some other stuff."

So, there is a possibility that filming might be wrapping up very soon for the fifth and final season of The Boys, and we'll be another step closer to witnessing the Supernatural stars in action.
