John Economos seems to be the only person who cares about Adrian’s weird obsessions in Peacemaker Season 2

Peacemaker Season 2 is the kind of show that does the most absurd humor, and perhaps all of the characters are wild in their own way, but one thing really stands out: John Economos is the only one who seems to actually care about Adrian's weird obsessions.

Whether it's spiders, owls, or random crow facts, everyone else is always shutting him out, yet John humors him with quizzes and conversations. Why? Maybe because deep down, he knows Adrian just wants someone to listen. And that small bit of patience says a lot about their friendship than anything else ever could.

Adrian’s animal trivia and John’s rare patience in Peacemaker Season 2

Adrian/Vigilante has always been a walking encyclopedia of useless facts, and in Peacemaker Season 2, his obsession hits new levels. From rambling about spiders having pairs of eyes to calling himself the "Rain Man of owls," Adrian never lets a conversation go by without an animal tangent. Harcourt and Adebayo brush him off quickly, often rolling their eyes and redirecting the topic, but John Economos doesn't. Instead, he listens.

We see John quizzing Adrian on spiders, asking him trick questions like how many eyes a tarantula has, or debating whether owl eyes are orbs or tubes. Adrian usually gets it wrong, but that doesn't stop him from doubling down and asking for more questions.

To everyone else, it feels like background noise, but John engages. There's something strangely wholesome about watching him humor Adrian's nonstop trivia even when it's ridiculous. John may tease him, but he's still the only one engaging instead of brushing him aside. And in a team filled with clashing personalities, that patience feels like a quiet act of loyalty.

A strange bond hiding under all the jokes

Their dynamic in Peacemaker Season 2 goes beyond just quizzes. Adrian's strange fascinations are part comic relief, part character beat, and John plays the perfect counterpart.

When Adrian calls him just to share owl hooting noises or brags about knowing a "shit load" about spiders, John doesn't hang up. He argues, laughs, corrects him, and keeps the conversation going. It's the kind of detail that makes their bond unique.

John notices Adrian in ways the others don't. When Adebayo and Harcourt dismiss him, it's John who lets him geek out. It's subtle, but he understands that Adrian isn't just a chatterbox. He's a guy desperate for connection, for someone to validate his weird passions. By entertaining him, John gives him that space, which is why it feels so very wholesome.

Peacemaker Season 2 is full of mayhem, but it's the small, human moments that hit hardest. Adrian may drive everyone crazy with his endless trivia, but John Economos proves he's more than comic relief by being the one person who listens.

It's silly, awkward, and weirdly endearing - and it shows that sometimes the strongest friendships are built on simply letting someone talk about spiders.
