Mama June Season 7 Premiere Recap - Josh talks to Justin as Pumpkin sees a family therapist

Mama June season 7 dropped its first episode on May 30, 2025. The episode featured the cast coming back on the screen yet again and sharing their personal lives, especially Josh and Pumpkin, who are having marital problems.

As for Mama June, she is having trouble with Alana as the star went live on her social media and revealed that her mother has not paid her money yet.

The episode starts with Alana's video itself, where Justin sees the whole deal. She expressed,

"Mama has not paid me back. She told me she would pay me back, but I am yet to see any money in my hand physically... I don't know why she just can't send a check, like, girl, go ahead, send me a little check, bank to bank.

Mama June then cleared the whole situation out by saying that when she was in Florida, she had offered to give Alana her money back. However, the latter denied and said that she will have it when she's home with June.

But now that Alana is going live to blast her mother on the internet, June is upset because she feels she would have given the money on the spot if she knew Alana was broke and was struggling.

Another fact that is bothering June is how the date of her court case is coming back. She is being sued by her late daughter's ex-husband over the custody of their daughter.

June is afraid that even though it is irrelevant to the case, the lawyers might use this video from the internet against her and weaken her claim for her granddaughter.

Mama June Season 7 Premiere Recap - Pumpkin talks to the family therapist

Pumpkin goes to see the family therapist, Lori Scott, on the Mama June premiere. She is alone, and the doctor questions her about the whereabouts of Josh, to which Pumpkin says he denied coming for this session.

In her confessional, Mama June's daughter says that she has been having trouble with her husband for a while now, and to work through it all, the two are seeing a therapist, together and separately.

While talking to Dr. Scott, Pumpkin expresses that she feels done with her relationship with Josh because there has been just no communication over the years. She feels as if divorce will be the best option because him and her are living like two roommates who are just taking care of the kids.

On the other hand, Josh sits down with Justin to discuss the issues he has with Pumpkin. He says it is getting hard for him now at home, and he is sleeping on the couch.

Later in the episode, he comes home to talk to Pumpkin at the dining table while she working. However, she has shut him off and isn't giving any room to open a conversation that he is looking for.

In her confessional, she says that he and she want separate things in life, which is not aligning with their current relationship, and thus, they need to finally "rip off the band-aid," and let it go now.
