Juice, BBC's trippy comedy show, is gearing up for its second season. So, this might be a good time to brush up on some of the details, including its cast and characters, who are central to its wild premise.
The show arrived with its first season over two years ago, by the end of 2023, and introduced fans to its humor with a blend of campy surrealism and slapstick comedy. It came from the mind of Mawaan Rizwan, a former YouTuber, who took the reins of this project through his creative voice. The result felt like a joyride through the mind of a young gay man.
Mawaan also starred in the lead role of this eternally anxious man, alongside his brother, Nabhaan, and his mother, Shahnaz. Russel Tovey, Emily Lloyd-Saini, and Jeff Mirza round out the film's central cast, which revolves around Mawaan's character on a surrealist adventure that takes him through the sweetest and darkest spots.
Since its first episode, the show has been developed like a joyride that twists and turns. It has usually been a way to learn more about the emotional state of its troubled lead.
Here's everyone else in his cast who helps Mawaan to achieve this feat.
The Juice cast and characters: Here are the central players in this BBC comedy
Mawaan Rizwan as Jamma

Mawaan Rizwan, the Pakistani-born British actor, has been dipping his toes into the comedy scene for over a decade. He began his career as a YouTuber before becoming a professional actor, starring in comedies and dramas. The actor was previously part of the 2020 drama series, Two Weeks To Live, and the 2016 crime-drama film, Murdered by My Father.
In Juice, Mawaan plays Jamma, a young man who seems ready to do almost anything to get everyone's attention. It puts him in a bind with his boyfriend, who wants someone more responsible than him as a partner. While speaking about Jamma and Guy's dynamic in the show's new season, the actor told BBC,
"They've decided to break up, but a greater force at play means they keep finding their way back to each other."
Russell Tovey as Guy

Russel Tovey has been in some of the most memorable TV projects in the past decade or more. He played a key role in the BBC Three show, Being Human, besides HBO's comedy-drama, Looking, and their later released sitcom, Him & Her. The actor most recently played a closeted undercover agent in Carmen Emmi's Plainclothes.
In Juice, Russel Tovey plays Jamma's boyfriend, Guy, who wants to settle down and have a family with a child. Yet, that seems difficult with Jamma still confused about his life. Speaking about the next chapter of this romance, here's what Tovey thinks will happen to their relationship, saying,
"[They have] Broken up, Guy is miserable, but getting on with it.
Nabhaan Rizwan as Isaac
Nabhaan Rizwan was one of the central actors in the cast of Netflix's Kaos, a mythological series where he played Dionysus. Other than that, the actor has also starred in films like Bassam Tariq's Mogul Mowgli and Naqqash Khalid's In Camera, besides shows like BBC's Informer and HBO's miniseries, Station Eleven.
Speaking about his bond with his on-and-off-screen brother in the new season, the actor told BBC,
"The brothers get to work together a lot more, which was a dynamic we really enjoyed. Since I was more involved with scripts this time around, it was a nice reflection of the way we tend to collaborate in general. It definitely birthed a few ideas of us working together later down the line."
