George R.R. Martin recently shared his emotional reaction to visiting the set of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, HBO’s upcoming Game of Thrones prequel, which is scheduled to air on January 18. Based on Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, the series stars Peter Claffey as the titular hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as his titular squire Egg.Seeing his work come to life is nothing new for the Game of Thrones writer but this isn’t just another adaptation.
