Karen Pirie Season 2 Episode 1 recap: Cat’s abduction and the recovery of Kevin’s body

Karen Pirie Season 2, episode 1, takes us on a thrilling ride of the discovery of a crime right from the get-go. This crime drama is quite a unique one, especially the way it handles the cases and the mannerisms of the investigation. The first episode of Karen Pirie Season 2 focuses on the abduction of Catriona 'Cat' Grant and her son, along with the discovery of a dead body identified to be that of drug dealer Kevin Campbell.

The first episode of Karen Pirie Season 2 starts off with the abduction of Catriona Grant. In the beginning, we see that Cat is spending time with her friend, Bonnie. After they spent some time together, they parted ways. However, right when Cat was about to enter her car, a masked man came from behind her and pointed a gun at her.

She begins to shout, which is heard by Bonnie. Bonnie runs back to the location to see the situation. Bonnie sees that Cat is being abducted by a man. She wastes no time informing Cat’s father about the situation, which leads to the beginning of the investigation. Cat’s father receives a letter from the kidnappers, which further complicates the case.

The scene then cuts to the current year, where we see that the police have discovered a body. The body seems to be well preserved, as even a key could be found with it. Upon further investigation about the key, the police find that the key belongs to Catriona Grant’s which completely shocks Pirie. Pirie then finds out how Kevin had been killed in the first place, as a gunshot wound is discovered.

As Pirie takes on the investigation to find more about Kevin, she finds that there is a likelihood that he was working with the Lennox Crime Family. Karen then gets the chance to visit Sir Broderick Grant’s house to investigate the case further. She informs him about finding Kevin’s body, which baffles Broderick Grant.

As the investigation progresses, more truths are revealed about Cat. While hearing the past investigations of the case, Pirie finds out that the Cat made a phone call. It is also revealed that Kevin was not the only one involved in the case. Cat had a boyfriend, Mick Prentice, who set it all up. He was behind the kidnapping and used Kevin. In the end, the truth about it all is revealed by Kevin’s brother, Ryan.

Ryan tells the truth to Pirie in exchange for getting a proper burial for his brother. When Karen returns home, she finds that her home is in complete shambles. Her work laptop is nowhere to be found. The laptop contained crucial documents related to the case. Along with her work laptop, the hard drive was also nowhere to be found.

This episode of Karen Pirie Season 2 ends with many cliffhangers, which are later revealed in the next episode. In this episode, it is clear that there is more to the truth than meets the eye. The identity of the person who called Cat is yet to be revealed.

Along with it, the reason behind the kidnapping also needs to be further explained. Karen Pirie, Season 2, episode 1, truly sets the tone for the upcoming truths that are yet to be revealed. The manner in which the cast members handle the characters is truly a remarkable depiction of their talents as versatile actors.
