The finale episode of MobLand saw several relationships crumble down and characters facing reversals. While Harry Da Souza's marriage with his wife Jan went up in flames, and he was shot, and on the other hand, Conrad and Maeve were put behind bars.
The only positive note that the debut season of MobLand concluded with was the emotional breakthrough in the relationship between Kevin Harrigan, played by Paddy Considine, and Bella Harrigan, played by Lara Pulver. The two of them were seen going in separate circles that didn't have much of an intersection throughout almost the entirety of the show, until the finale amended this by bringing them closer in an unexpected revelation of empathy and compassion.
Here's everything that you should know.
Kevin and Bella finally come around to salvage their marriage on the MobLand finale
Despite his family being entrenched in a brutal war against Richie Stevenson, Kevin found himself to be rather distracted throughout the other episodes of MobLand. After Harry informed him about coming across an old prison guard named Alan Rusby, that was in charge of looking about them back in prison, Kevin's haunting trauma of getting raped by the same guard in prison came back to life.
Kevin was almost possessed by the demons from his past, and he lingered for a long time before he was finally able to bring himself together, track down the now old guard, and put a bullet in between his eyes. Kevin's final moment of reconciliation comes after he shoots the man and talks his heart out to the dead body, revealing the secrets that his son Eddie was born out of Conrad and Bella's illicit relationship.
Bella, on the other hand, was trying her best to organize a business deal involving Antoine and her father, Lord Pinock. Her motivation seemed vague for a while, as it was not exactly connected to the overall war plot of MobLand. However, by the finale, it became clear that Bella was trying to bring her father down for his prolonged s*xual abuse of her as a child, and she did succeed by the end. Both Kevin and Bella confessed their traumas to each other. While Kevin was surprised to learn that Bella's father had s*xually abused her in childhood, Bella revealed that she knew about Kevin's past all along, as he was given to talking in his sleep. The two finally emerged as a strong couple ready to dive headlong into adversities.
Paddy Considine speaks about MobLand
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ScreenRant, MobLand star Paddy Considine opened up about his character Kevin and how he approached his relationship with the young Eddie:
"I think Eddie's a liability as far as Kevin's concerned. Talking about him taking over, he is a kid. He's not equipped at this point and he's not being trained in the way of somebody that would have the ability to take over. It would be chaos. Why that chaos is being created, I don't know, and Kevin doesn't know, but it's too out of control for someone to be running a crime family. From Kevin's point of view, that's the problem with his dad. I was looking at Conrad thinking, 'This guy's losing the plot here.'"
