The teaser trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 has fans hyped up for August 21, 2025, when the series will begin streaming on Max. It also hinted at important plotlines like Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Green Lantern (Guy Gardner) are looking to recruit a new costumed hero for their team, and Rick Flag Sr.'s role in Season 2.
This season will continue the storyline established in the first season, which some might find confusing, considering many believed that Season 1 took place in the DCEU, which began with 2013's Man of Steel. However, it should be noted about The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker Season 1 that except for Margot Robbie and Viola Davis, there are hardly any references to the DCEU in the two James Gunn directorial ventures.
This is why it is easy to retroactively include The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker Seasons 1 and 2 in James Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU. The first teaser trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 also has implications for the wider DC Universe.
Here are some of the hints in the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser trailer
Krank Toys

Danielle Brooks' Leota Adebayo is driving Christopher Smith/Peacemaker right in the opening scene of the Peacemaker Season 2 teaser trailer. For those who don't know, the Krank Toys store seen in the image before is probably owned by Cosmo Crank/Toymaker (NOT to be confused with Superman Supervillain Toyman).
Cosmo Crank was seen for the first time in the 2004 animated series The Batman, in which he was voiced by Patton Oswalt. Thus, this character is not in the comics, but fans will know the name Crank because it appears in the popular Arkham games. Therefore, this moment from Peacemaker Season 2 is probably taking place in DCU's Gotham.
Maxwell Lord, Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), and Hawkgirl recruiting a team
The teaser opens with John Cena's Peacemaker attending a secret interview in his costume. The interview is presided over by three heroes we will meet in James Gunn's Superman: Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner's Green Lantern. We don't see Anthony Carrigan's Rex Mason/Metamorpho or Edi Gathegi's Michael Holt/Mister Terrific in the frame.
Thus, we may see Mister Terrific and Metamorpho join Superman in the upcoming DCU movie, prompting Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner to search for other heroes to form a team, which is:
Justice League International

The uniform we see Hawkgirl wear in Peacemaker Season 2, and even in Superman, is the same one that Guy Gardner is wearing, with the same "JL" chest emblem.
It should be noted that Justice League International is different from the Justice League, which we know. Justice League International is probably supported by Sean Gunn's Maxwell Lord, who is doing so to further his goals.
Rick Flag Sr. hunting Peacemaker

We have known for a while that Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr. is one of the antagonists of Peacemaker Season 2. He is hunting down Christopher Smith because the Peacemaker murdered his son in the last act of The Suicide Squad (2021), which is canon to the DCU.
Pocket Dimension returns

We see that Peacemaker's father, who was also the white nationalist supervillain The White Tiger, stores Peacemaker's helmets and several other dangerous weapons inside a pocket dimension. This dimension is seen in the teaser trailer for the second season as well. The second season seems to expand upon the pocket dimension from Season 1.
That's because the pocket dimension might be connected to the multiverse, as the last scene of the teaser trailer shows us another Peacemaker.
Peacemaker Season 2 will begin streaming on Max from August 21, 2025.
