Mike Judge and Greg Daniels produced King of the Hill, a popular American cartoon program that began airing in 1997 and concluded in 2009. The plot revolves around Hank Hill, a propane salesman, and his family, who reside in the small Texas town of Arlen.

The program revolves around ordinary life, friendships, work, and family difficulties. It became well-known for its straightforward storytelling and relatable comedy. The show aired for 13 seasons and received several accolades and acclaim from reviewers. It was announced in 2023 that King of the Hill would return to Hulu with fresh episodes.

The King of the Hill reboot returns with fresh gimmicks and a contemporary touch. The characters and scenario remain the same, but the updated edition includes smart gadgets, applications, and contemporary tech trends. The show, which will air on Hulu in 2025, blends classic comedy with current elements, giving longtime fans something fresh to enjoy while keeping the spirit of Arlen, Texas, alive.

More about the King of the Hill revival

It's official: King of the Hill is preparing for a spectacular comeback, this time embracing modernity. Hulu is bringing the iconic cartoon series back to life after more than ten years off the air, fusing its small-town charm with the modern, tech-savvy world.

The recently unveiled teaser image provides a lighthearted look at the revised Arlen, Texas. While Hank, Boomhauer, Dale, and Bill are still together in their beloved alleyway, they are now joined by food delivery from "Mega Lo Eats," drones, and virtual reality headsets. The companionship hasn't changed, even though technology has. Dale is engrossed in a virtual world, Boomhauer is browsing on a tablet, and Alamo beer is still being distributed—but now via air.

Mike Judge, who plays Hank Hill and Boomhauer, returns alongside original cast members Pamela Adlon (Bobby Hill), Kathy Najimy (Peggy), and Stephen Root (Bill), and Bobby, now grown, works in a fusion restaurant, staying true to his roots but expanding into new terrain. Unfortunately, Johnny Hardwick, who originally played Dale, died in 2023, but his memory will definitely be recognized in the resurrection.

Hulu has officially ordered the series, which was written by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels and produced by Bandera Entertainment, for 2023. While no release date has been specified, summer 2025 is the current target.

This updated King of the Hill blends humor from the modern era with nostalgia. The program promises a new yet familiar return to Arlen's most famous alleyway, complete with updated eccentricities and the same heart that viewers fell in love with.
