Other than Chenoweth in a recurring role, the stellar cast of the series also includes Jenn Lyon, Taran Killam, Jarrett Austin Brown, Ryan Pinkston, Taylor Dunbar, Anissa Borrego, and Arianna Davis. The series will premiere on NBC on November 7th, 2025.

What do we know about Kristin Chenoweth’s latest venture on NBC?

NBC is home to several successful comedy series, including The Office, Superstore, 30 Rock, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The Good Place. Kristin Chenoweth’s NBC comedy is written by Alissa Neubauer, executive producer and showrunner of Call Me Kat Season 2 on Fox. It will be produced by Kapital Entertainment and 3 Arts with Universal Television as the studio. It is interesting to note that this untitled comedy was sold even before she joined the cast of Stumble.

The multi-camera comedy series will revolve around Mary, who will head the local church choir as the Director to complete her community service. She takes on the role half-heartedly. What ensues is a lot of musical chaos that will ultimately lead to the character striving to be a better person.

Chenoweth will play the lead role, along with executive producing the series with Neubauer, Aaron Kaplan, Troy Zien, and Michael Rotenberg

Kristin Chenoweth has been part of several successful projects, such as The West Wing, Schmigadoon!, Our Little Secret, and A Christmas Love Story. Chenoweth as April Rhodes on Glee remains one of the more memorable characters on Fox’s musical comedy series.

After having previously given groundbreaking performances in Wicked and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, she will be seen gracing the Broadway stage in The Queen of Versailles, which she is also co-producing. She will be working with Academy Award-winning songwriter Stephen Schwartz for the show. The Tony and Emmy-winning actress had also taken to Instagram to share the first track titled ‘Caviar Dreams!’ from the Broadway show. The performance is slated to start on October 8, 2025.
