Landman Season 2: Cast, plot, and latest updates

Landman Season 2 heads back to West Texas where the drama runs as deep as the oil. The Paramount+ series from Taylor Sheridan has begun filming for the upcoming chapter. As per CBS News, Landman Season 2 is currently being shot in Downtown Fort Worth in Texas.

Apart from Silverman and Burnet, Sam Elliot has also joined the cast for Landman Season 2 as a series regular. Among the expected returning cast members is Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, running M-Tex Oil after the death of his boss, Monty Miller. Demi Moore as Cami Miller, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, and Andy Garcia are also cast members slated to be back. Since Monty Miller died due to cardiac arrest in the season finale, Jon Hamm would not return for Season 2.

The plot? The events will follow the aftermath of the Landman Season 1 finale. We might find Tommy balancing a cartel entanglement, a collapsing oil deal, and family drama in the upcoming season. With Monty gone, Tommy will lead M-Tex alongside the shrewd attorney Rebecca Savage, while fending off dangerous cartel figures, Gallino (Andy Garcia).

Paramount+ has not released any official release date for Season 2 yet. However, based on the filming schedule, Landman Season 2 can be expected to release in late 2025 or early 2026. Even though Landman is considered one of the most successful shows of the Paramount+ it failed to grab a single Emmy nominations. Speaking about Season 2, Billy Bob Thornton told The Hollywood Reporter,

"I loved it. Taylor knows this show very well, he’s got a vision for it so it’s pretty easy. I didn’t expect to read it and go, ‘Wait a minute, hang on here.’ It was great.”

With bigger stars, higher stakes, and more trouble brewing in oilfields, Landman Season 2 is ready to turn up the heat.

All episodes of Landman Season 1 are available to watch on Paramount+.
