Landman Season 2 is officially on the way, and the fallout from that intense finale is just beginning. With Monty gone, Tommy’s stepping up as the new head of M-Tex, but running the show isn’t as simple as it seems.

In the meantime, there are more secrets than revealed by Angela, Cooper's aspirations could negatively impact his family, and Tommy's unexpected interest in Galindo raises more questions than it answers.

With old grudges rekindled and new allegiances formed, the Norris family is under greater scrutiny than ever before.

Now that the next season is confirmed, here are the six biggest questions it has to answer.

Can Tommy Norris handle the weight of Monty’s legacy?

Taking over M-Tex wasn’t in Tommy Norris’s plans, but now that Monty is gone, he is in charge whether he likes it or not. For years, Tommy was the guy who got his hands dirty, leading the rig hands with authority and respect. But being the head of M-Tex is an entirely different challenge. Now, he is expected to deal with corporate executives who care more about profit margins and polished presentations than his field experience.

Landman Season 2 will put Tommy to the test as he must demonstrate his worth beyond his job performance. Thanks to his charismatic leadership style, Monty was able to win over the boardroom and the oil fields alike. But Tommy, however, lacks his finesse.

He is used to calling the shots in the field, not negotiating with power-hungry businessmen. Cami, Monty’s widow, has agreed to stick around to support him, but even she cannot shield him from the ruthless reality of running a corporation.

Tommy has never been one to consider things through before acting. Now, though, he must adjust to a game in which his every move and word counts. More than only financial difficulties may be in store for M-Tex if he is unable to reconcile the expectations of leadership with his forthright style. It might collapse entirely.

Is Angela ready to let Tommy back into her life?

Tommy and Angela have always had a turbulent relationship. Their marriage ended in disaster, but after Monty’s death, Tommy opened up in a way he never had before. Unexpectedly, he revealed a sensitivity to Angela by telling her how much she meant to him. Now that everything has calmed down, Angela must decide if she can allow herself to believe in Tommy once more.

In Landman Season 2, Angela is still holding on to secrets that could complicate things even further. Her past with Victor, her wealthy ex-husband, looms like a shadow over her newfound connection with Tommy. Victor’s life seems perfect now, with flashy cars, young women, and a lifestyle that screams success. But if Angela left him behind, there must have been a reason.

Tommy might be willing to take another chance on her, but Angela’s walls are still up. Years have gone into her creating a life free of dependence on anyone but herself.

Will her past prevent her from going on or can she truly let Tommy back in and drop her guard? And if Victor resurfaces, will he be content to stay in the background, or will he try to win Angela back just as she is starting to trust Tommy again?

Could Cooper’s ambitions undermine Tommy’s plans?

Cooper Norris has always been the underdog, the one fighting to prove himself in a family where his father’s shadow looms large. Now that Tommy is running M-Tex, Cooper is looking for his own way to make a mark, and he is not playing by the rules. He has been quietly signing up struggling landowners for a co-op project, convincing them to join forces and pool their resources. It is a bold move, and if it works, it could make Cooper a significant player in the oil game.

But in Landman Season 2, Cooper’s ambitions might end up colliding with Tommy’s plans. Tommy and Cami are banking everything on a risky farmout deal, using Cami’s assets to secure a loan that could either save the company or destroy it. If Cooper’s co-op initiative interferes with M-Tex’s gamble, it could spark a father-son conflict that neither is prepared for.

To Cooper, it's about more than just being Tommy's kid. Whether he is prepared to jeopardize his father's legacy in pursuit of his own ambitions is an open question as he moves ahead with his plans. And if his actions end up sabotaging Tommy’s already fragile control over M-Tex, will their relationship survive the fallout?

Is Ariana ready to move forward with Cooper?

Ariana has been through hell since her husband’s death, and Cooper has been the one constant presence by her side. He has helped her sort out her finances, taken care of her lawn, and provided a shoulder to lean on when the grief became too much. Their connection has grown stronger, but in Landman Season 2, the question is whether that bond is real or just a coping mechanism for Ariana.

Cooper clearly wants to be more than just a rebound. He has been patient, showing up for Ariana in ways no one else has. However, Ariana's thoughts of her late spouse linger on, and she may feel betrayed if she moves further. Their relationship is fraught with stress from the start, and as time goes on, things only get worse.

Ariana may find the security she seeks if she is willing to let go of her baggage and commit to a serious relationship. However, Cooper may end himself in a scenario where he gives more than he receives if she is unable to overcome her sadness. And if Tommy gets wind of how close his son is getting to Ariana, it could complicate the already tense dynamic between father and son.

What is Angela hiding about Victor?

Angela may have walked away from Victor, but that does not mean he is completely out of her life. In Landman Season 2, Victor’s shadow still looms over her, and the way she reacted to seeing him surrounded by younger women suggests there is more to their past than she is willing to admit.

Victor’s life appears perfect now. He has money, influence, and the kind of flashy lifestyle that could easily lure someone back in. But if Angela left him behind, there must have been a reason. Was it control? Manipulation? Or something darker?

Angela has built her entire life around not needing anyone, but Victor is a reminder of the version of herself she is trying to forget. If he decides to reappear, it could put her on a collision course with Tommy, who is just starting to believe they might have a real chance at something.

What is Galindo really after?

Galindo was the wildcard in Landman’s explosive finale. One moment, he was torturing Tommy and blowing up an oil well. The next, he was offering a partnership and acting like a potential ally. But in a world as ruthless as the oil business, nothing is ever what it seems.

Galindo is not the kind of man who forgives easily. His reputation is built on fear and power, and if he is suddenly positioning himself as Tommy’s ally, there is a reason.

In Landman Season 2, Tommy will have to decide whether Galindo’s offer is a genuine business opportunity or a carefully laid trap. Tommy has been desperate to keep M-Tex afloat, and Galindo knows it. If Galindo can manipulate Tommy into making a deal that benefits him, he will do it without hesitation. And if Tommy falls for it, he could end up losing everything Monty built and everything he is trying to protect.

What Landman Season 2 has to unravel

Landman Season 2 has a lot to unravel after the explosive events of the first season. Tommy is stepping into a role he never wanted, Angela is still haunted by a past she cannot quite escape, and Cooper’s ambitions might turn him into his father’s biggest threat. Meanwhile, Galindo’s sudden interest in M-Tex raises questions about his true intentions and how far he is willing to go to get what he wants.

With so many secrets and power plays in motion, the Norris family is standing on unstable ground. As old alliances fracture and new ones form, the question is not just who will come out on top but who will survive the fallout.
