Landman Season 2 Episode 1 recap: Cami takes the reins and Cooper's unexpected win

After the thrilling events of the first season, Landman Season 2 arrives with an intense storyline from the get-go. Besides the already tense atmosphere that the characters now have to deal with, new complications are also arriving.

These aspects are setting the stage for some intense moments that will happen as Landman Season 2 progresses. At the end of the first season, Tommy’s life gets a little more complicated with the death of Monty.

Cami takes the reins and Cooper's unexpected win in Landman Season 2

The first episode of Landman Season 2 begins with a grim tone. Tommy is facing trouble with the things that are going on. At the ceremony, Tommy has a heated discussion with Danny about Cami taking over the company. However, Tommy begins to tell him that things are not going to change, as he will be the one running it all.

Tommy’s words make no difference, as Danny keeps on arguing. Tommy tells Danny to trust him, but Danny’s suspicions do not end. Tommy leaves Danny and enters the room where the ceremony is going on. Bob comes to him to speak about the gas fields in Kilgore. Tommy tells him that it is “pretty far down” his list. Bob continues to make Tommy an offer, which they negotiate and finalize. They also discuss Cami’s competency, saying that Cami should sell and not continue in this field, as she is not as good as Monty.

Tommy assures Bob that he is not disagreeing with his concerns, but she is tougher than he thinks she is. The scene then cuts to Cami. It can be understood that she is tense. She comes out and speaks to Tommy about her speech. She wrote a speech, but says that she does not think it is the right thing to say.

Cami confidently takes the stage and begins her speech by talking about the joke that the women inside the restroom told her. She continues by saying that she is also a “hunter.” Her speech is extremely powerful, which completely impresses all the people present in the room, including Bob.

The scene cuts to the oil fields, where they are finally able to get the oil that they have been looking for. Marty informs them that the rig has 6200 units, which is incredible and can be a great opportunity for them. Cooper goes to his house to inform Ariana about the good news. He even takes her to the rig to show her.

This episode of Landman Season 2 continues with Angela and Ainsley visiting college. Ainsley enters the room of counselor. However, the counselor begins to discuss her low marks in a condescending manner. Though the counselor is not happy accepting her candidature, she has to. On the other hand, Tommy and Cami discuss their current scenario while they are driving.

Tommy tells Cami not to directly speak to anyone and just redirect it to Tommy. Cami is not eager to do so, as she understands that she will not be able to learn anything. Tommy tries to warn Cami that all the bad deals are going to come her way. Their conversation is cut short when Tommy’s son, Cooper, calls to inform him about some good news. However, Tommy tells him to come to the house to discuss.

Landman Season 2, episode 1, ends with Tommy having dinner with his family. However, their dinner turns into a chaotic situation because Tommy is discussing Angela’s demands for a new house. Their conversation turns into a heated argument because of Tommy’s remarks on Angela.

Tommy gets devastating news at the end of this episode in Landman Season 2. Tommy gets a call where he finds out that his mother is dead. It can be understood that the next episode of Landman Season 2 is going to be further intriguing.
