The American neo-western drama series Landman was created by Christian Wallace and Taylor Sheridan. Billy Bob Thornton plays Tommy Norris, a strong landman who works in West Texas' perilous oilfields.

The Boomtown Podcast provided inspiration and the drama follows the lives of roughnecks, oil executives, and families caught up in the rapidly expanding energy boom. The series, which stars Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, and Sam Elliott, delves at risk, ambition, and evolving power dynamics.

Landman Season 2 received mediocre reviews. This was from both reviewers and viewers and Rotten Tomatoes gives it an 81% rating despite a decline in viewership because of its narrative and characters. While cast members defend their opinions, many criticize the slow tempo and representation of female characters.

The second season of Landman is now available to stream on Paramount+, but fans aren't as enthusiastic as critics. The program has a great 81% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but negative audience ratings and reviews demonstrate a significant gap between reviewers' and fans' perspectives.

Christian Wallace and Taylor Sheridan created the drama, which revolves around Billy Bob Thornton's Tommy Norris as he works in the hard environment of West Texas oil production while dealing with personal and familial issues. Most critics believe Season 2 outperforms Season 1 due to greater storytelling and character development. Some argue that it provides a more accurate representation of boomtown life in Texas.

Many fans, however, have expressed unhappiness with the season opening, criticizing it as slow and lacking the vibrancy that made the first season so engaging. Tommy's ex-wife Angela and daughter Ainsley have long been criticized for being too exaggerated and one-dimensional, adding to recurring issues over female character portrayal.

Fans are irritated by Ainsley's heated interview situation at Texas Christian University, Angela's regular emotional outbursts, and out-of-date jokes about her mood swings and on social media and internet forums, many viewers criticize these storylines as unnecessary, offensive, or poorly written.

In spite of this, Michelle Randolph and Ali Larter, who portray Angela and Ainsley, defend their roles by claiming that their actions are complex and varied. However, a lot of individuals claim that these characters are not given enough space to develop in the literature.

When it debuted, Landman was a huge hit and Paramount+'s top-performing original series at the time, however, the program is unable to live up to audience expectations due to Season 2's erratic reactions, and the crowd's reaction indicates that more work is required to win back supporters' trust, even if reviewers keep praising the season. Weekly new episodes are still released, giving the show time to gain traction, although preliminary feedback suggests that it could have trouble winning back viewers.
