Landman Season 2 production is ongoing, and the latest filming updates have shown significant twists in the storyline. Reports from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram indicate that recent filming locations suggest a dramatic storyline shift for Ainsley Norris, one of the key characters in Landman.

Production has started filming on the Texas Christian University (TCU) campus in Fort Worth, Texas. It is being utilized for on-campus scenes. In Season 1, Ainsley Norris returned home and reunited with her father, Tommy Norris.

Using the college setting for the next season indicates that Ainsley's narrative will turn to her college years. This is a drastic departure from her previous storyline, which primarily occurred within the family living environment and the local oilfield communities.

Landman Season 2 still shoots in various locations in North Texas. According to these reports, Season 2 will likely increase the show's settings and work on new storylines, particularly for main characters such as Ainsley Norris.

Landman Season 2 filming moves to college campuses

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Landman Season 2 has started filming college scenes at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Casting calls were made by Legacy Casting for extras aged 18-24 to play college students. This is a change from the primary filming locations of Season 1, which were mostly centered around oil towns like Midland and Odessa.

The addition of TCU as a filming location shows a new direction in the storyline. In Landman Season 1, Ainsley Norris was portrayed as being at a personal crossroads. Her story was focused on her return home and struggles with family relationships. The introduction of college scenes suggests that Ainsley will now be seen pursuing higher education in Season 2.

Filming is not limited to TCU. According to casting notices, Landman is also filming in Dallas and Fort Worth. This includes scenes near the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, restaurants in Dallas, and other locations in Fort Worth.

Production also continues in areas like Cresson, Jacksboro, Midland, Odessa, and Durant, Oklahoma. This wide range of filming sites indicates that Season 2 will introduce new environments and settings for its characters.

Ainsley Norris’s storyline could change direction

Landman Season 2 appears to be shifting the focus of Ainsley Norris’s character. Ainsley’s story in Season 1 revolved around her return home and complex relationship with her father, Tommy Norris. The use of college campuses as filming locations suggests a possible transition in her personal story.

In Season 1, Ainsley was depicted dealing with family tensions, especially with her father, while living in a world connected to the oilfield industry. By moving the setting to a college environment, Season 2 may explore Ainsley’s life outside her family home. The location change also opens the possibility of introducing new characters and storylines connected to college life.

While no full plot details have been confirmed, the consistent presence of college campus scenes, as reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, suggests that Ainsley’s journey will focus more on her identity and choices. However, given the main themes of Landman, it is also possible that events from her family’s world will continue to affect her life even while at college.

Other Season 2 filming locations include hotels and clubs

In addition to the college scenes, Landman Season 2 is using multiple other locations for filming. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, production has scheduled scenes at hotels and a strip club in Fort Worth.

For example, the show filmed pool scenes at an unnamed hotel, with casting calls issued for extras to play pool guests. Filming for Season 1 included well-known hotels like Hotel Drover, Hilton Fort Worth, Bowie House, and Crescent Hotel.

Additionally, filming took place at a strip club location. Casting notices called for extras to play a cleaning crew after the strip club closes for the night. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that earlier filming was done at Rick’s Cabaret, located near Ridgmar Mall.

These scenes suggest that Season 2 will continue depicting a range of environments. Alongside college life, viewers may also see the corporate, social, and nightlife aspects of Fort Worth and other Texas locations.

Landman Season 2 will feature major changes in setting and character storylines. Ainsley Norris’s arc is expected to shift towards her experiences in college, while the show expands its filming to multiple North Texas locations, introducing new storylines and environments.
