Landman leads us back to the crude oil fields of West Texas, where trucks are roaring, family tension is amplified, and ambitions are stronger than ever. The first season was a massive hit, with over 35 million viewers across the globe, and has become one of the largest shows on Paramount+. Season 2 will now resume the story on Sunday, November 16.

Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton, finds himself in a new role that is more powerful than before, and a cartel with dangerous intentions comes into the picture. Landman Season 2 will be even bigger and bolder with more drama, danger, and power struggles.

Landman Season 2: Release date and how to watch

Landman Season 2 is set to release on November 16, 2025, on Paramount+. The oil-rig drama is now officially scheduled to return on a late-autumn Sunday. This news was announced by the press release of the streamer and the official page of Landman, which also stated that the show is going to continue to be an exclusive of Paramount+.

The date of release is very explicit, whereas the streaming schedule is not outlined in detail. Nevertheless, given the way Landman Season 1 was released and the coverage by multiple outlets, it reveals that the show will likely have a weekly release rather than releasing all the episodes at once.

Therefore, be sure to set a reminder for November 16 on your calendar so that you don't miss the first episode of Landman Season 2. Make sure you have an active Paramount+ subscription, and be prepared to have a chat with your friends every Sunday about the latest season of Landman.

Cast & newcomers in Landman Season 2

The majority of Landman’s main cast returns in Season 2: Billy Bob Thornton as the rough yet intelligent landman Tommy Norris, along with Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Mustafa Speaks, Mark Collie, Kayla Wallace, Colm Feore, and James Jordan, which means that the family and M-Tex crew you are all familiar with are mostly back in action. The role of Demi Moore has been enhanced in billing, and her narrative footprint will likely increase this time around. Monty, played by Jon Hamm, is, however, not coming back (the fate of his character at the end of Season 1 precludes that).

The biggest headline is Sam Elliott joining Landman as a new character, who will now become a regular, adding his typical Western feel to the series. New cast members such as Guy Burnet, Miriam Silverman, and Stefania Spampinato, as well as other recurring roles, have also been reported. In addition, Andy Garcia, who made a brief appearance at the end of Season 1 as a cartel figure, will play a much bigger part in Landman Season 2.

What to expect from Landman Season 2

Landman Season 2 is going to be even more of what you enjoyed in Season 1: shady business dealings, messy family drama, and the sharp violence that showrunner/writer Taylor Sheridan brings to the table. In the first season of Landman, Tommy found himself in a leadership position abruptly and was bound to a cartel contact who rescued him. His next chapter will probably depict his stumbling rise as an unwilling boss as he attempts to balance leases, legal hustles, and high-risk outsiders.

The audience can anticipate some tense bargaining scenes, some tough moral decisions, and some intimate moments between characters, in which the scorching roads, oil rigs, and the grim local bars become characters of their own.

The show is based on true reporting, co-produced with journalist Christian Wallace, drawing from the Boomtown reporting in the Permian Basin.

Therefore, it is as polished as a large-scale TV drama, but is nonetheless attentive to matters of labor, money, and communities that are disproportionately impacted by the oil boom-and-bust cycle. Since Landman Season 1 has a high viewership and Paramount is going to do a big push on Season 2, it is likely that it will increase the stakes to keep the story grounded in its characters.
