Landman Season 2 Episode 2 has left fans emotional with its father-son duo bonding. With season 1 mostly focused on Cooper, who is Tommy's son, trying to prove himself by joining the oil industry, and Tommy protecting him throughout while hiding his real caring emotions, season 2 changes this entire dynamic.

Two episodes into the season, we see Tommy finally talking about his childhood to Cooper in the truck and why he stayed distant to avoid any of that anger spilling over onto his own son. Opening up about his childhood and relationship with his own father, Tommy told Cooper:

"I wasn't raised to father a son"

After hearing Tommy's side, Cooper told Tommy:

"I love you, Dad. You did your best, and your best is good enough for me."

The scene stole viewers' hearts with the honest, emotional exchange between the two, which they were waiting for. The Landman Season 2 teaser also showed Sam Elliott as Tommy's father in the series, building curiosity around what's going to come. With eight more episodes left to release before this season ends, it will definitely be interesting to watch how the two father-son and grandfather-grandson duos will work out.

Speaking to TVLine about Tommy Norris, a character played by Billy Bob Thornton, and if he has made any positive changes, Thornton said:

"I think he certainly hopes he has. I think when you spend that much time in a truck, you think a lot."

When asked by Cooper about the truck scene and if he ever thought about it, Jacob Lofland, who played the character of Cooper, said:

"He's never really had to think about it, and I think what they go through in that scene prior to that one, I think that's a very eye-opening thing for him that he didn't have that understanding about his father."

The scene was very touching in the whole episode, and according to Cooper, it had very raw emotions.

During the interview, Tommy's father, T.L., was asked if he could repair his bond with Tommy and Cooper, who is his grandson in Landman Season 2, to which he said:

"He's living his life just full of regret that he pined away for his wife forever, dedicated his life waiting for her to come back. And at the same time, for sure, he's the father of a son. A failed father of a son. That definitely laid waste to him on some deep, personal level. Any opportunity again to come back into the fold, so to speak, he's timid about it in the beginning, he's reluctant about it, but I think he's up for it."

What can fans expect from the father-son duo in Landman Season 2?

Landman Season 2 has already surprised fans in a happy way with Tommy's confrontation about his own feelings and Cooper trying to understand his father's side. The season will mostly dwell on a lot of healing and possibly confrontation between Tommy and his father, T.L.

Cooper's already doing well with his oil wells, but he'll surely be needing Tommy's advice, and at the same time, we might also see both characters talking more about their feelings and past. Episode 2 has already given fans a happy moment, seeing them getting close. But how this truly unfolds is something we'll have to wait and watch in the coming episodes.
