Landman Season 2, one of the most-awaited shows of the year, has finally premiered on Paramount+. There was immense buzz about the Billy Bob Thornton starrer ever since the first season broke viewership records on the streaming platform. The new season has surpassed expectations, as it has received even better reviews than the first chapter.
Landman Season 2 currently has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 83%, which is higher than the previous season’s rating, 78%. Set in the oilfields of West Texas, it revolves around Tommy Norris, a petroleum Landman and the operations head of a giant oil company. The show explores the themes of how an oil boom impacts the economy and politics, which has resonated well with the audience.
Landman Season 2 scores an 83% Rotten Tomatoes score
Landman Season 2, which has currently aired only one episode, holds an RT rating of 83% from critics. In comparison, the first season received a score of 78% from critics. Hence, the rating has increased by 5% between the two seasons. It is to be noted that the score could increase or decrease in the future as more reviewers post their opinions on the platform.
As for the Popcornmeter, which represents audience score, Season 1 has a 65% rating based on more than 1000 reviews, while Season 2 has yet to officially receive a rating, as a large section of the audience has yet to watch the first episode and eventually rate it on the platform.
Landman Season 2 continues the journey of Tommy Norris, who has become the president of M-Tex Oil following the death of his close friend and former boss, Monty Miller. However, running the company is going to be difficult as he faces challenges from every corner.
The official synopsis of the new season reads:
“As oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller, and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break.”
Season 2 brings back Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris. He is joined by Demi Moore as Cami Miller, Jacob Lofland as Cooper Norris, Ali Larter as Angela Norris, Paulina Chavez as Ariana Medina, Michelle Randolph as Ainsley Norris, Mark Collie as Sheriff Walt Joeberg, Kayla Wallace as Rebecca Falcone, James Jordan as Dale Bradley, Sam Elliott as T.L. Norris, and Andy Garcia as Gallino.
The series has been created by Christian Wallace and Taylor Sheridan, who recently made headlines as he decided to leave Paramount and signed a deal with NBCUniversal. It remains to be seen how his exit from the company impacts the future of the show. For now, Landman Season 2 continues to air new episodes on Paramount+ on Sundays.
