Landman fans enjoy guessing and trying to come up with theories: surprise babies, dramatic flashbacks, and even AI spoilers. However, prior to the arrival of Landman Season 2 (on November 16, 2025), Kayla Wallace, the actress who plays Rebecca, has been clearing some of the most outrageous speculations. In interviews and on the Internet, she has joked that fans easily run a little wild and that Taylor Sheridan always takes his own unpredictable course.

Wallace has already discarded some of the grand theories. Still, she has already alluded to what really counts in Season 2: powerful character moments, crisp dialogues, and all the chaos that oil, money, and power bring. Therefore, in case you were stockpiling crazy notions in the comments, worry less: some of them are nothing but fun fan fiction, others perhaps may be close, and some have already been kindly (and humorously) refuted.

What Kayla Wallace actually said about AI use in Landman Season 2

ScreenRant questioned Kayla Wallace regarding the rumors about Landman Season 2, particularly the hilarious AI-generated plot guesses, and her response was very relaxed and intelligent. She reassured the fans without spoiling the mystery. According to her, certain AI theories were interesting, though they did not fit the type of storytelling that Taylor Sheridan specializes in. That is, computer guesses cannot replace the messy, human way of writing that Sheridan uses.

Regarding the plot about Rebecca facing challenges with M-Tex Oil in Landman Season 2, which AI guessed, Wallace told ScreenRant:

“I can't really give away too much more about that. But there are always challenges with M-Tex, and nothing ever runs smoothly. Stay tuned!”

Then, debunking some more theories, like that of a possible love affair between Tommy and Rebecca, Wallace commented,

“Huh…Keep watching, and everyone will find out for themselves.”

As a result, much of the online discussion has been replaced by a shift in the understanding that these are all entertaining theories. Wallace is primarily out to argue that the actors and writers develop characters in ways that fans cannot always anticipate.

Even if an AI summary can construct ideas that seem plausible enough, such as revenge, dark family secrets, or an unexpected shift in morality, it still lacks the true soul of the show. It is unable to reproduce that gritty, lived-in atmosphere of the Landman world: the hard decisions, the shabby motels, and the business transactions that always reek of gasoline and regrets.

The “secret-daughter” theory

Among the most popular fan theories on the Internet about Landman Season 2 was the one stating that Monty Miller had a daughter named Rebecca. It felt like a clear-cut reason as to why she was so abruptly promoted and why there was a weird air between them. Even fans have linked a couple of minor hints into the story, like her falsehood about her father, the convenient timing of her promotion, and a brief cameo that seemed like a hint.

Kayla Wallace did not close the theory entirely, but her remarks certainly cooled it down. In a conversation with ScreenRant, she said:

“AI is stirring the pot. I would watch that. That's interesting. Keep watching, and you'll find out if that's true.”

In her opinion, more than a surprise twist about a secret parent, Rebecca has a more complex past and holds more complicated choices. Big family reveals are popular with fans because they deliver dramatic moments in a short time. In contrast, Taylor Sheridan prefers slow, character-driven storytelling that transforms our perception of a character over time rather than in a single shocking moment.

It does not imply that the twist would never occur: Sheridan has done it before, but the tone by which Wallace is saying it seems that Landman would prefer to see Rebecca develop into a more complicated, messy, and realistic person, not defined by a simple parentage revelation.

What’s real

As the fans were conjecturing all kinds of crazy theories, the actual news was much more practical and, frankly, much more saccharine. Kayla Wallace has been marketing Landman Season 2, discussing how intense and detail-heavy the shoot was, including some very crazy moments on set that she has referred to in interviews. The trailer also established the tone: higher stakes, established characters, and new issues, which can only be described as fitting the style of Taylor Sheridan.

Simultaneously, Wallace had some significant personal news that the fans picked up on: she is expecting a baby, a life update that reminded them all that she is a person outside the show. And that is important, as it alters the experience of her interviews. When an actor is commemorating a huge occasion in his/her life, he/she responds differently, laughs differently, and nudges fans to move off overly personal or dramatic hypotheses.
