What happened in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27 Episode 4?
In Episode 4 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27, Tynan asks Benson to take the promotion and become the Deputy Chief of the SVU unit. However, Benson quickly declines, as she prefers the field job where she can directly save the victims rather than take up a desk job.
Tynan also informs her about Rollins searching for a team to join and that he might be interested in joining the SVU unit again. While Tynan's words confuse Benson, she later tells Amanda that the team will always be open to having her back. While Rollins is happy to join her friends, she is also terrified of what Tynan might be planning, as she has been seeing a pattern in the new chief's work.
Rollins knows Tynan's inclination toward reforms, which caused her former team to be reshuffled and changed. Just like Griffin was sent to Benson's team, Tynan had also sent a member to her former team, which prompts her to keep an eye on the new detective.
In this episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Season 27, the team investigated the case of 13-year-old Penny Wilson, who had a miscarriage. After investigation, they learned that Penny's ex-boyfriend was the father, and his jealous girlfriend was sharing nude images created by an AI to harm her reputation.
With the ADAs' help, the team brought the creator of the AI platform, and with the testimonies of several people, including a co-creator of the AI, found him guilty.
