Lesley-Ann Brandt joins Apple TV's Presumed Innocent Season 2

Lesley-Ann Brandt has joined the second season of Presumed Innocent as a series regular. Like Magaro and Rosen, her role is also being kept under wraps for now. The South African-born American actress is best known for her roles in Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Single Ladies, The Librarians, and Lucifer. In addition to her impressive resume of work, the actress has also built a strong presence behind the camera.

Ann-Brandt recently produced South Africa’s International Feature Oscar submission and the Ecumenical Jury Prize-winning crime thriller movie The Heart is a Muscle.

The next addition to the Presumed Innocent Season 2 cast is American actor Courtney B. Vance, most famous for his role as Ron Carver in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. His other acting credits on the small screen include The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, ER, and 61st Street. Vance will play the role of Leila's boss in her firm.

More about Presumed Innocent Season 2

As mentioned above, Presumed Innocent Season 2 is the next chapter in Apple TV's anthology thriller, which became the most-watched series on the platform and also picked up 4 acting nominations at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The second season is based on Jo Murray's debut legal thriller novel Dissection of a Murder, which is set for a May 2026 release. While the network is keeping the plot details under wraps for now, the official logline for the book reads as follows:

A dead judge. A silent defendant. And a courtroom full of liars.

Lead actress Rachel Brosnahan also serves as an executive producer on the series.

Leila Reynolds is a law student who is shocked to learn that her very first case is the high-profile murder case of a well-respected judge. While Leila feels unprepared, her client, Jack Millman, maintains that he only wants her to lead this case. As Leila gets entangled in the high-pressure courtroom chaos, her personal life also gets messy.

Filming for Presumed Innocent Season 2 will begin shortly in California. In addition to Brosnahan, Gyllenhaal also serves as an executive producer through his Nine Stories banner, along with Scott Turow, the author of Presumed Innocent, the source material for the freshman season.
