What to expect from Let the Devil In Episode 2?
In the first episode, Let the Devil In established the case, revealing how a Catholic mother was found dead at her Jefferson home. The second episode, titled Panic, will showcase how the investigators found a second body in the house, which turned the case upside down.
It will explore how people started talking about the Satanic connection of the case, which also introduced a supernatural angle to the mystery. MGM+ has released an official logline for the episode, which reads:
“A chilling discovery of another body thrusts the town of Jefferson, NJ, into the national spotlight; whispers of devil worship fuel the fire of a nation engulfed by Satanic Panic; as fear mounts, rumors blur what's real… and the supernatural.”
The show has been directed by Danielle Franco and executive produced by Eli Roth. Talking about why he decided to make the show about the 1988 incident, Roth revealed that he was fascinated with how the story had both true crime and horror elements. He said in an interview with Gold Derby:
“What drew me to the story is that it really does blur that line between true crime and true horror. The way he killed himself is so unimaginable and unthinkable, you don’t really know how he could have done it unless he was possessed.”
Other executive producers on the project include Anneka Jones, Jill Burkhart, Banks Tarver, Rod Blackhurst, Branden Morgan, Nicole Sorrenti, Ken Druckerman, and Dirk Hoogstra. The show has been produced by William Acks, Kevin Vargas, Trey Nelson, and Anike Niemeyer.
