Created by Samuel Baum, Lie to Me, is a crime drama featuring Tim Roth, Kellie Williams, Monica Raymund, and others. The show aired on Fox from 2009 to 2011 for three seasons and focuses on Dr. Cal Lightman (Roth), who with his colleagues in The Lightman Group, accepts assignments from other federal law enforcements and assists in criminal investigations.

Even though Cal is often not taken seriously, he is dedicated to his craft. Cal’s mother committed sui*ide when he was young and he therefore became an expert in micro expressions. The doctor is divorced and has a teenage daughter. Cal also has a developing chemistry with his colleague Gillian Foster. The veteran British actor Tim Roth is known for his roles in The Hit, Vincent and Theo, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and others.

· Kelli Williams as Dr. Gillian Foster – Foster is Lightman’s psychologist colleague at The Lightman Group and she analyses patterns of voice, behavior, and language. Foster is a thorough professional, though she can get impulsive at times. Even though she sometimes does not approve Lightman’s methods, she does not interfere with his work. Gillian also adopts a baby, though she is returned to her birth mother. Foster also goes through a divorce from her husband in the show. · Mekhi Phifer as Ben Reynolds – Reynolds is an FBI agent who assists The Lightman Group. He offers practical insights, access to FBI resources, and connections.
