Lisa Kudrow’s The Comeback adds new cast additions for final Season

The Comeback is a sitcom starring Lisa Kudrow and while the show has always had its seasons spaced out—the first season coming out in 2005 and the second premiering in 2014—fans can rejoice as the third and final season of the satirical series is coming back in 2026.

Created by Lisa Kudrow and Michael Patrick King, The Comeback focuses on Kudrow who is a sitcom actress called Valerie Cherish in Los Angeles. The show is presented in a mockumentary format and focuses on the entertainment television industry.

Both seasons of the show have been shot as found footage till now and the title of the show refers to the satirical reality show within the series. With the show’s third season being confirmed, Deadline reports that a few new faces will be seen in the final season of The Comeback.

The Comeback adds new cast members for its final season

According to Deadline, Tim Bagley, Matt Cook, Jack O’Brien, and Ella Stiller, will be the new faces of The Comeback Season 3. Veteran actor Bagley is known for Somebody Somewhere, Grace and Frankie, and more such projects. He will soon be seen in the Carrie miniseries. Cook was famously seen in Man with a Plan. He has also worked in movies like Champions, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, and Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.

O’Brien has worked as the executive producer on Becoming Mike Nichols and was nominated by the Emmys. He is also a three-time Tony Award winner. He has directed and produced renditions of The Piano Lesson, The Full Monty, and more. Finally, Ella Stiller, daughter of Ben Stiller, was recently seen in And Just Like That and other projects like Happy Gilmore 2, Escape at Dannemora, and more. She will also be seen in the upcoming Bobby Farrelly comedy Driver’s Ed.

While details about O’Brien and Stiller’s characters are still not known, Bagley and Cook played minor roles in the show’s second season as Frank and Ivan respectively. However, it’s not clear if they will carry on with their old roles or play new characters.

Lisa Kudrow will be back as the protagonist of The Comeback and other series regulars like Laura Silverman, Damian Young, and Dan Bucatinsky, will also be back. Deadline reports that production has begun in Los Angeles and the show will debut on HBO and Max in 2026.

The show is a cult comedy hit and is a mockumentary style sitcom that revolves around Valerie Cherish (Kudrow), who is a veteran B-list sitcom actress that found fame for a show in the 90s. As the years go by, Cherish desperately tries to revive her career. She therefore decides to document her comeback through a reality television series that has the titular name. However, she has to face issues of ageism, increasing competition from more youthful faces in Hollywood, and her every move being documented by the reality show. The plot details for Season 3 of the show have not been revealed yet.
