Long Story Short ending recap

The final episode of the show features the Schwoopers family in Las Vegas as they participate in a funeral for their Uncle Barry Kein, the widower of Naomi’s mother’s sister. The Schwoopers don’t want to go as the Kleins didn’t attend their mother’s funeral, but they end up going.
Further, Elliot and his children, Avi, Shira, and Yoshi, are all living separate lives in different places. Elliot is therefore happy to go to the funeral and get a chance to meet his children. While Yoshi is focused on his new faith, Shira and Kendra are dealing with family life, and Avi is trying co-parenting with Jen and wants a better relationship with his daughter Hannah.
Yoshi misses the funeral proper after getting lost in the chaos of Las Vegas and he is actually happy as he did not want to go to another funeral after his mother Naomi’s death. Even though Yoshi does not attend the funeral and gets stranded, the Schwoopers decide that staying with family is important.
Therefore, family is put first at the end of Long Story Short and everyone spends Shabbat with Yoshi and leaves differences behind. Promises are made about the family reuniting more often and it ends up giving Elliot and his children the space to process Naomi’s death.
