Love is Blind: Argentina, Netflix’s latest spin on its popular dating experiment, premiered on November 6, 2024. This, now a global experiment, threw 32 hopeful singles into the infamous "pods" – those soundproof rooms where participants can fall in love with voices and personalities while being blissfully unaware if their potential partner's idea of fashion stopped evolving in 2005.
The show's premise remains deliciously simple: date without seeing each other, get engaged to a voice, and then pray your person looks like their personality suggests.
Six couples emerged from Love is Blind: Argentina wearing engagement rings: Santiago and Emily, Mauricio and María Emilia, Roberto and Eva, Tom and Florfi, Ezequiel and Julieta, and Matías and Brenda.
But as they say in reality TV land, getting engaged is the easy part – it's staying together that's harder than explaining why you need a vacation after your honeymoon.
Which couples stayed together post Love is Blind: Argentina?
Emily and Santiago:
On the show's reunion episode, Emily and Santiago revealed that they are still together and are going strong. This was followed by the show's host, Wanda Nara stating, "Yes, true love! you had to stay together. You couldn't disappoint us."
Florencia and José Luis:
Talk about a plot twist! Florencia and José Luis, the couple who got engaged on the last day of pods on Love is Blind: Argentina (dramatic much?), turned out to be the real deal.
They've settled in Buenos Aires with Florencia's cats (because what's a love story without some felines?), where she's pursuing her acting dreams while he hosts events. And yes, they're still married, proving that sometimes the best decisions are the last-minute ones!
Florfi and Tom:
Florfi and Tom, both 27 and apparently allergic to definitive relationship status updates, are keeping us guessing. While they didn't make it to "I do" (because four weeks was apparently not enough time to decide to spend eternity with someone – who knew?), they're still in each other's orbit.
She's busy being a personal trainer and life coach, while he's living life as a DJ and producer. Are they together? Well, their social media suggests they're "in touch," which in reality TV terms could mean anything from "planning a wedding" to "liked each other's Instagram posts twice."
Those who said ‘Thank U, next’
María Emilia and Mauricio:
In a twist that surprised absolutely no one who watched their journey, María Emilia (41) and Mauricio (42) didn't make it. Turns out, constantly critiquing your partner's fashion choices isn't the best foundation for eternal love – who would've thought? She's now back to being an attorney and ontological coach, while he's running his fashion brand "Not Ego".
Eva and Roberto:
Eva and Roberto's romance did not last the test of time. Their relationship couldn't survive the transition from Love is Blind: Argentina to real life, with Eva feeling like she was doing all the heavy lifting.
Now she's back to lawyering and creating digital content, while he's living his best ranch life.
Out of six hopeful couples from Love is Blind: Argentina, we got two success stories, one "maybe," and three "thanks for the memories." Not bad odds for a show where people get engaged before seeing each other's faces, right? At least there's enough drama here to fuel several seasons of a telenovela!
Love is Blind: Argentina is available to stream on Netflix.
