Hosted by show host Maya Jama, Love Island UK Season 12 live final featured former Islanders along with four finalist couples.

"Now, remember tonight, one of these gorgeous couples will be heading home with £50,000."

She mentioned how the season has been "one for the books" and that it would be fair to say "things got messy."

During the finale, show host Maya talked to Harrison, who left the villa to continue his connection with Lauren. He revealed that they were getting to know each other and were "exclusive." When Maya asked about being a girlfriend and boyfriend, he said they were not yet.

Talking about the couple he wanted to win, Love Island UK star Harrison said he was rooting for Harry and Shakira. Maya then talked to Tommy and asked about him and Lucy. However, he said they were no longer together. After he shared the incident that led up to their parting ways, Lucy and he shared that they remained friends.

Further, Maya asked him about his connection with Megan outside the villa. She said they have remained friends. The show host then asked Ben and Andrada what had happened between them.

"I really liked him, and like obviously we were exclusive, not like these two, and we were getting really close. We were video calling every single day."

She mentioned how things were going well and that he was going to meet her family. However, she pointed to Harrison and Ben and said:

"We had interviews the next day. We were so busy so we couldn't attend and these lot, like, do you know what I mean? The wives weren't there and then that's what happeed."

Maya responded that she couldn't believe how things unfolded.

Before revealing the winning couple from Shakira-Harry and Toni-Cach, Maya invited the two final couples and talked to them. She asked them about their journeys on the show and their connections with each other.

They also talked about their reunion with their families. When Maya asked if Shakira's mom would now be open to giving a hug to Harry, Love Island UK star Shakira responded:

"I mean, that would be a miracle. I don't know. God, I need to speak to her so badly."

However, Love Island UK star Harry said he thought her mom would give him a hug.

"You both look really like, I don't know, the last couple of days I've been watching you thinking, this is cute. This is very cute," said Maya.

Listening to her, Harry said he never thought she would say that to him. Further, Maya talked to Toni and Shakira and how they became besties and have made it to the finale.

Before the winner announcement, the episode featured messages from finalists' friends and family members. Lastly, Maya Jama announced Shakira and Harry as the runner-up while Toni and Cach won the Love Island UK Season 12.
